The first plans to spin off the Geneva Motor Show were announced two years ago. While the event was supposed to be held both in Geneva, Switzerland, and in Doha, Qatar, the former was canceled for 2023, leaving only the latter.
Thus, the GIMS (Geneva International Motor Show) Qatar is now underway, with its gates opening on October 5, and it will end on the 14th. One of the big names at the event is Lamborghini, which was keen to put the spotlight on its electrified future by showcasing the Revuelto and the Lanzador Concept to the local audience in the presence of chief Stephan Winkelmann.

"This new motor show in a significant region is the perfect opportunity to present these important Lamborghini models to Middle East audiences," Winkelmann commented. "We are delighted to be here today, in the year that Lamborghini celebrates its 60th anniversary and six decades of our rich brand heritage while providing visitors to GIMS Qatar a preview of our innovative future as we shape our path towards electrification."

Replacing the Aventador and serving as the Sant'Agata Bolognese brand's new flagship supercar, the Lamborghini Revuelto was presented earlier this year. It manages to keep the tradition alive by retaining the naturally aspirated V12 recipe, albeit with electrification. Thus, the 6.5L unit is assisted by three electric motors, which are fed by a 3.8 kWh battery. The combined 1,001 hp (1,015 ps/747 kW) enables the 0-62 mph (0-100 kph) in 2.5 seconds and a 217 mph (350 kph) maximum speed.

Those who want to place a deposit for a brand-new Revuelto are in for a long wait, as the supercar is sold out until the end of 2025. We still don't know how much it costs officially in the United States, but depending on whom you ask, you are looking at in excess of $600,000. The smaller Huracan is not available anymore as Lamborghini is gearing up its successor and is sold out through the end of its lifecycle. The replacement is scheduled to premiere next year and will also use electrified power.

Previewing the brand's fourth model after the Revuelto, Huracan successor, and ultra-popular Urus, the Lamborghini Lanzador is described as a "high ground-clearance Ultra GT" with seating for four. It looks like an Urus from the future, though, unlike the production crossover, the show car uses two electric motors, with each one powering an axle. The total output is one megawatt, or 1,341 hp (1,360 ps), and the production version is believed to retain this power.

Mind you, while it sounds like it would dominate the world of hyper EVs today, it will likely face stiffer competition by the time it launches, supposedly in 2028, according to the Italian automaker. The Lanzador was shown to the world at the Monterey Car Week a couple of months ago, breathing the same air as some iconic models from the brand's past and present, including the Miura, Countach, and the Huracan Sterrato jacked-up supercar.
