Did you think just because Jeep isn't making a Trackhawk version of the new Grand Cherokee that we won't see its predecessor in action anymore? Why, of course, you didn't, as it remains a beast that loves to show off and challenge the occasional Lamborghini Urus to a straight-line battle.
We know what you're probably thinking: that the Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk vs. Lamborghini Urus drag races are a thing of the past. And they are, for the most part, only in this instance, both protagonists boasted more power than stock. And guess what? They were also equally matched.

According to the video uploader, which captured the two super high-riders going head-to-head at the Race 1000 event in Germany, with the footage making its way to the World Wide Web a few hours ago, both have over 1,000 horsepower on tap. The Urus allegedly boasts 1,010 horses, and the Trackhawk is apparently one horsepower punchier.

The stock Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk has 707 horsepower (717 ps/527 kW) and 645 pound-feet (875 Nm) of torque on tap produced by its supercharged 6.2-liter V8 engine. It needs three and a half seconds to deal with the zero to sixty miles an hour (zero to 97 kph) acceleration and has a top speed of 180 miles per hour (290 kph).

Over in the more exotic corner, the pre-facelifted Lamborghini Urus is a bit less powerful, enjoying 641 hp (650 ps/478 kW) and 627 lb-ft (850 Nm) of torque. Under the hood sits a twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8, and this model is equally fast to 60 mph. Should the driver keep the right pedal pinned to the floor long enough, then it will eventually max out at 190 mph (306 kph).

Now, it is clear that either of them is a force to be reckoned with in a straight-line sprint, and they can certainly teach a lesson about fast takeoffs to multiple supercars from the previous generation. With more oomph, however, they are a menace to the modern-day exotic establishment, too. And they're not just fast in a straight line, as they won't embarrass themselves on twisty roads either.

You are probably dying to find out which of the two was declared the big winner on that day. Nonetheless, there's no point in spoiling the outcome, as the video embedded below is worth watching. At nearly seven minutes long, with the Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk vs. Lamborghini Urus battle kicking off at the 1:05 mark, it also shows other battles that were filmed at the same event.

So, before calling it a story, which one do you think was faster? Was it the American SUV or the European crossover? Now, hit the play button to see if you were right.
