Honda has confirmed that the new generation of the Civic will also get a Type-R version, with the hot hatch schedule to arrive in 2013. Senior Honda sources confirmed for autocar that the vehicle is coming. Honda has said that the new Civic will get a g-fast version before, but the company explained that this won’t use the Type-R designation, hinting that it won’t come with such an extreme character as its predecessors.
However, when the officials spoke to the aforementioned source at the event, there was no word on this, which could mean that the plan was left behind and that we’ll get a proper hot Civic.

The story also brings other spicy details, such as the fact that Mugen won’t be involved in the development of the car. Honda is also considering launching other Type-R models in the future, but nothing is certain for the moment.
