Rumors that Honda is working on a successor to the NSX have been circulating the internet for a while now. Back in September, CEO Takanobu Io said that the project was given the green light, and yesterday we leaned that a preview model will arrive at the 2012 NAIAS in Detroit this January. Some might speculate it has something to do with the Acura roadster that Tony Stark drives in the Avengers movie combing out next year, but we can’t be sure.
Now, Autocar comes forth with more details on the NSX successor, which will reportedly get an AWD drivetrain powered by a hybrid V6 engine. The drivetrain will have more than 300 horsepower and it’s to be called the Super-Handling AWD or SH-AWD in short.

In the US market, it will be branded as an Acura, fueling the Avengers-related speculation, but it will likely still be sold in markets that don’t have the premium brand.
