Among the multiple developments brought by Honda to the Tokyo Motor Show, the carmaker announced that it is offering a new diesel engine for the European market.
The company will give us a fresh downsized diesel with a capacity of 1.6 liters, which delivers 120 hp at 4,000 rpm and a peak torque of 300 Nm (221 lb-ft) at 2,000 rpm. Honda brags that the unit is the lightest in its class, adding that it will emit less than 100 grams of CO2 per km. Of course, everybody wants to know just how efficient the new mill is, but we don't have any info on that for now.

The unit will be spread across the automotive producer’s range next year, with its debut scheduled to take place on the new Civic.
