Earlier this month General Motors revealed that all Australian manufacturing will come to a halt by 2017 due to the “negative influences the automotive industry faces in the country” and the “high cost of production”.
Holden replied rapidly, saying that the brand won’t be buried, but become “an importer of vehicles like most our competitors”. That doesn’t mean Holden fans won’t be disappointed, with the Commodore likely to be discontinued or built in a different country with different specs, but the company is not willing to give up just yet.
In an attempt to assure their customers that the Holden badge won’t disappear, the Australian automaker released a brand new commercial. Entitled “We’re Here to Stay”, the ad doesn’t introduce a brand new model, but emphasizes on the fact that Holden will always “be committed to making the best cars for Australia”.
