Jason Battersby, the virtual artist behind jbdesign_ca on social media, is clearly not someone to be taken lightly. His work experience includes stints at Jaguar Land Rover and Audi Design, as well as Lamborghini and Ducati.
In fact, he spent no less than 12 years at Audi Design, and his time there was well spent – he was involved with the Audi grandsphere concept, among other things. Currently, he's an Exterior Design Manager at Jaguar, but it remains to be seen if he's going to be unemployed soon – there are currently rumors swirling around JLR ditching the Jaguar brand after closing some dealerships, canceling orders, and even dropping the My Jaguar online portal.

However, no worries, he could easily land a job at the General Motors Design Center – he's from Canada, after all, and has a secret crush on 'America's sports car,' aka the Chevrolet Corvette. Not long ago, some of his personal projects involved the Ghia Super-Arrow with Palm Spring vibes and a different take on the Chevrolet Corvette Stingray that fused lots of vintage cues like the pop-up headlights or the classic front-engine RWD layout with a very futuristic approach to its exterior design.

We talked about this unofficial design project not long ago, but somehow the good folks over at Car Design World (aka cardesignworld on social media) tipped us off to this marvelous alternate take on the Chevy Corvette dressed in a different colorway than the artist originally imagined it. More precisely, the pixel master showcased on his personal account the C2 and C3-inspired modern Chevy Corvette Stingray dressed in silver and with exposed carbon fiber accents and bits & pieces.

Now, though, there's also a crimson version on display, and this time around, both the new colorway and the silver one are also out of the dark studio setting – this way, it's much easier to appreciate the flowing lines of the hypothetical Corvette Stingray concept. Obviously, this vision is a 'return to roots' because the engine is clearly in the front, and the minuscule rear window is a clear minimalist-style reinterpretation of the C2 Sting Ray coupe model's split rear window style. As for the pop-up headlights, they're a futuristic take on the C2 through C5 style, for sure.

On the other hand, everything else is thoroughly modern or futuristic – from the aero-style concave blade wheels to the tiny LED headlights and taillights. We can only imagine what goes on inside the cockpit, though, as the CGI expert hasn't provided renderings of the interior, unfortunately. As for the real C8 Corvette, the 2024 E-Ray is finally out and about, with folks starting the independent testing procedures. Hopefully, we will soon see it give the competition some quarter-mile dragstrip headaches, just like the Z06 has been doing for some time.
