Formally and formerly known as the Pontiac Motor Division of General Motors, the American automotive brand was founded almost a century ago but never got to start preparations for the milestone because it was decommissioned 13 years ago when it was still 'young' at 85.
No worries, there will be plenty of Pontiac fans who will celebrate when the time is right – and many of them will fondly remember or display the most prestigious models from the company, like the GTO, Firebird, Bonneville, Grand Am, and Trans Am, among others. Of course, it's never a bad idea to start preparations early, so perhaps you need an idea on how to make a Firebird Trans Am stand out in any crowd, no matter the time period.
The imaginative realm of digital car content creators is always a good source of inspiration, by the way, and if anyone wanted to dream of a Trans Am restomod that would put to shame any contemporary Mopar or FoMoCo model with a V8 under the hood, then good news - Timothy Adry Emmanuel, the virtual artist better known as adry53customs on social media, continues his dream ride periplus within the CGI muscle car world.
When he's not dreaming of hot renderings for automotive publications, his personal endeavors include things like a heavily modded Chevy K5 Blazer that morphs from a proper off-roader into a slammed widebody canyon carver, the 2024 Dodge Charger Daytona EV dressed in General Lee attire, or glorious Challengers rocking 1,000 digital horsepower, among others. This time around, he's back in a GM mood and found time to CGI-handle an old Pontiac Firebird Trans Am.
It's the classic Smokey and the Bandit variant with a black Trans Am getting lots of gold touches and a tan leather interior, but it's also not exactly like the one Burt Reynolds drove – the bird hood is gone and, in its place, sits a blower V8 that's as magnificent to look at as it is to imagine it roaring wholeheartedly while on a canyon carving road trip. This is a fantasy, indeed, as this car doesn't exist – but it's also too enticing not to dream about it, right?
Additionally, the wheels are a dark shade of gold, just like areas of the T-top or parts of the engine. But that's not all because this Trans Am is slammed to the brink of giving ants a headache when passing over them, and the fenders have been seriously blown out of proportion to achieve a bad-boy widebody look and house the hypothetical mega-wide rubber needed to make this a monster down the quarter-mile dragstrip. Last but not least, the restomod attitude is completed with a set of LED headlights and the accompanying taillights. So, what do you think?
