Ford built a Gamer Van for those who want to take the virtual world with them when they leave home to spend a couple of days in the wild. The vehicle sports a custom-built desk, couch, and just about everything that a gamer needs. The Gamer Van will take a road trip before it will be on display at the Twitch Con next week.
This is not exactly what you would expect from a van. Some convert it into a camper and choose to leave the madness of the cities behind. Others use it as a workhorse or put it to work on construction sites. But now it has become a gaming station on wheels.
For the project, Ford teamed up with the video game organization Full Squad Gaming (FSG). The Gamer Van is based on the latest Ford Transit Trail Van special edition and sports a funky pattern on the outside.
As for the inside, Ford and GSG did not put in a cramped bedroom, a match-box-sized bathroom, nor a oh-there-is-so-much-storage-space-in-here kind of kitchenette, in which you bump your head against the cabinets. Instead, they came up with the ultimate Gamer Van.
So here it is, sporting a real gaming desk, a custom-built couch, and a reactive cloud ceiling, whatever Ford meant by that. What we do understand is what Ford means by "all of the gaming and streaming equipment you could ever need." They put in a gaming PC, a PlayStation 5, and an Xbox Series S, plus multiple sets of headphones and controllers.

The Ford Transit Trail is nothing but a lifted Transit (by 3.5 inches) that the manufacturer designed for some off-road adventure. The list of tweaks includes widened track, lifted suspension, all-terrain tires, and something extremely necessary when the terrain turns extreme: all-wheel drive as standard. All these features help gaming enthusiasts play their favorite games in the most remote of places.
The model with the gaming studio inside is powered by the turbocharged 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 engine in its most potent variant, generating 310 horsepower (314 PS) and 410 pound-feet (541 Nm) of torque, delivered to both axles.
Built in Missouri and available since March 2023, the Transit Trail starts at $65,975. Ford does not mention anything about the price of the conversion.
The first trip that the Ford Transit Trail Gamer Van will make is to Mount Kare, California. Over there, Ford will demonstrate the capabilities of the F-150 Lightning electric pickup truck, which will provide the power the FSG team needs to keep on gaming.
The road trip will conclude at TwitchCon, the semi-annual gaming convention, where FSG will meet up with gamers. The Ford Gamer Van will be on display there, with the sliding door wide open for all gaming enthusiasts.
