While Japan isn't the giant of the auto world that it used to be, we still have a lot of interest for what they're doing there. While maybe half of America hates president Obama for his support of electric vehicles and the stringent CAFE regulations he's imposing, the Japanese are welcoming electric mobility with open arms.
In fact, EVs and PHEVs are pretty much mainstream now, so much so that the Japanese are even customizing their charging stations. Panasonic is going to launch a series of new charging stations which will go on sale next January and the funny thing is, they've been decorated in the colors of a famous anime.
Neon Genesis Evangelionwas originally released in 1995 and is widely recognized as one of the all-time greatest animes. It's an apocalyptic story in the mecha genre that takes place in a futuristic Japan. Mankind is under threat of extinction from monstrous being and fights back with gigantic bio machines called Angels.
