Regardless of its generation, the Dodge Viper hardly strikes one as the type of machine that needs some extra width. And yet this is precisely what the rendering sitting before us has to offer.
This is a Gen IV Viper, one that has been gifted with a widebody take as part of an effort of keeping the V10 monster up to date. And we can thank pixel master Karan Adivi for it.

The fat fenders are filled up by custom wheels, whose design looks almost mesmerizing. Then we have the uber-limited ground clearance and it looks like we're dealing with air suspension, a trend that has gained extra traction in the final part of the last decade.

We mustn't overlook the added carbon bits, front the front lip spoiler and the side skirt extensions, to the rear diffuser.

Oh, and while we're at it, perhaps I should mention that the Viper realm has its own way of counting iterations. So while we can talk about three major changes between 1991 and 2017, these are listed as five "generations".

The latter year means the Viper has been discontinued and while there have been various rumors about the return of the budget supercar that was this slab of America, nothing is certain at the moment.

Come to think of it, that extra width mentioned above could be useful, albeit rather for the engine bay than the tracks - Fiat Chrysler stated that the Hellcat V8, which could've replaced the N/A V10 of the Viper, helping it come with contemporary emission standards, doesn't fit the engine compartment of the supercar, due to being too wide.

Given the fact that Fiat Chrysler is merging with Nissan Renault, we could see the new resources leading to a Viper revival, even though I wouldn't hold my breath for such a move taking place over the next few years. Meanwhile, here's a review of a Gen V Viper.
