How can a vehicle be both dead and alive at the same time? Well, Ram Trucks Australia has just gotten its hands on the 1500 TRX Final Edition, a model that the new 1500 RHO replaced in spirit, and it's looking to part ways with copies destined for the land Down Under.
According to the automaker, only 130 units of the Ram 1500 TRX are available in the Pacific country. The model is available in three new and exclusive exterior hues: Night Edge Blue, Harvest Sunrise, and Delmonico Red.

Other highlights include the bead-lock capable wheels, a 6.2L badge on the hood and decal in the bed, the TRX logo embroidered on the seatbacks, a Final Edition cluster screen, suede inserts in the door cards, matte carbon fiber weave on the doors, console, instrument panel, and steering wheel, and a dedicated badge on the console revealing the build number.

The unique suspension setup with active damping, independent front suspension, Dana 60 solid rear axle, Bilstein adaptive performance shocks at both ends, functional hood scoop, full-time active transfer case, Baja driving mode, and multiple safety gizmos are also on deck.

Ram's 1500 TRX Final Edition, which officially bids farewell to the monstrous truck, uses the same engine as the rest of the series. The Hellcat motor is a 6.2L supercharged V8, delivering a healthy 523 kW (711 ps/701 hp) and 882 Nm (651 lb-ft) of torque to both axles. Despite its size, this model can reach 100 kph (62 mph) in four and a half seconds.

We told you pretty much everything about Australia's Ram 1500 TRX, save for the recommended retail price. You may want to sit down for this one, as it's hard to swallow. That said, interested parties are looking at a minimum of AU$249,950 for each of the 130 copies available locally. It comes out to $162,780 at the current exchange rate. The model was available from US$119,620 (equal to AU$183,640) in the United States, including the destination charge.

Now, the 1500 TRX may be dead, but its spirit lives on in the new 1500 RHO. This sporty pickup celebrated its premiere recently and is a rival to the likes of the Ford F-150 Raptor. Power comes from a 3.0L straight-six engine with dual turbos, making 540 hp (548 ps/403 kW) and 521 pound-foot (706 Nm) of torque. It comes with an eight-speed auto, a four-wheel drive system, a full-time active transfer case, and a few other goodies.

Ram says the new 1500 RHO needs 4.6 seconds to sprint to 60 mph (97 kph), which is about as fast as its predecessor. The top speed is 118 mph (190 kph), and it can deal with the 1/4-mile in 13.1 seconds at 105 mph (169 kph). It will arrive at dealers nationwide in the third quarter of the year, priced from $69,995 plus the $1,995 destination charge. The regular 1500 TRX used to kick off at a little over $96,000.
