A press statement from Detroit says Buick's August sales were the best recorded since 2003. The 24.1% increase represents the 16th consecutive month of sales growth. If GM counts sales to fleet buyers, the increase is almost 37%.
Every model Buick sells reported the best figures for the year to date. The updated Enclave luxury crossover SUV saw a 19.1% year-on-year sales boost. The Verano sedan was up 12%, while the bigger 2014 LaCrosse was 24.5% up in August.
The small Encore crossover is new this year, so there's nothing to compare it to. But with 4,296 delivered, August was its best month of 2013.
“A fresh product line continues to drive new and current customers into Buick showrooms,” said Brian Sweeney, vice president of Buick Sales and Service. “Enclave is tracking for its best sales year ever while Verano is helping to create a new generation of Buick loyalists.”
