Aston Martin Confirms Valhalla Appearance in Bond 25, Joins DB5 and V8

Earlier this week, British carmaker Aston Martin announced the official name of its latest hypercar, until recently called AM-RB 003 - Valhalla. With the announcement came a rumor that the car will be starring in the next installment of the James Bond long-lived series of movies, so far titled Bond 25.

Expectations were Aston Martin would be confirming the rumor by the end of the week. And come Friday, the Brits did.

In a very brief statement it released, the company said Valhalla would be taking its rightful place as a one of the cars of choice for Britain's famed 007 agent alongside the iconic DB5- which thus makes a return to the movie that made it increasingly famous – and the V8.

“Aston Martin BD5, Aston Martin V8 and Aston Martin Valhalla will star in Bond 25 – the latest installment in the 007 franchise,” the statement reads.

It's not clear at this point how much of a role Valhalla will play in Bond's battle against evil super-villains.

The synopsis of the yet unnamed movie paints the picture of a retired James Bond, who is recalled into service by the CIA to track down and defeat a "mysterious villain armed with dangerous new technology.”

The Valhalla, a descendant of the Valkyrie, is expected to be on the roads sometime next year Packing technologies designed for and inspired by the Valkyrie – including a powertrain developed together with Red Bull Advanced Technologies – the car will be built in a limited number of 500 units.

As per initial specs, the car's engine will be developing around 1,000 horsepower – or 750 hp per ton, taking into account the car's weight of 1,350 kg (2,976 lbs) – and will make the Valhalla capable of reaching 62 mph in just 2.5 seconds.

More to the point details about the car's capabilities are expected over the course of the following months.
