Unlike its business partner Toyota Motor Corporation, which already dropped the curtain to show the 2025 Camry Hybrid and the first-ever 2025 Crown Signia crossover SUV, Subaru keeps its LA Auto Show surprise for the event's press day.
Toyota wanted to grab the red carpet's spotlight all for itself and launched the ninth global Camry generation along with the first crossover SUV of the Crown series a few days in advance. They're both hybrid and feature more than 200 ponies under the hood - 225 and 232 for FWD or AWD Camry and 243 for Crown Signia, which sounds nice when combined with spectacular mileage, right?

Plus, they are both part of the mid-size sector – which is also where Subaru started playing not long ago in the crossover SUV field. They first introduced the Tribeca mid-size crossover SUV back in 2005, and the quirky design lasted until 2014 – but then Subaru retconned the design ethos with a more traditional Ascent model (sold as Evoltis in some markets).

The company returned to the mid-size crossover SUV after a short hiatus in 2018 with the Subaru Ascent, and they quickly gave it a facelift to make it compatible with the rest of the family composed of the 2024 Crosstrek, Forester, Outback, and 2023 Solterra BEV if we speak only of crossover SUVs. But why are we talking about the Ascent so much?

Well, Subaru of America announced earlier this month that an all-new "fully redesigned vehicle will make its global debut at 9:40 AM PT (12:40 PM ET) on November 16 at the 2023 Los Angeles Auto Show." Since that moment, fans have speculated which model will grace the show – and the rumor mill was not too far behind. Naturally, that means the imaginative realm of digital car content creators is also ready to lend a helping hand.

For example, the good folks over at the Q Cars and CarsVision channels on YouTube have unleashed their resident pixel masters to portray the vision of this mid-size CUV. And, no worries, there's also an alternative from AutomagzPro, just in case you think that maybe a 2025 Subaru Forester Hybrid could be a real-world surprise, actually.

Interestingly, both pixel masters from Q Cars and CarsVision intend to bring to life a second refresh of the Ascent mid-size crossover SUV rather than an all-new model. It keeps the Subaru styling intact even though both CGI artists intervene with AI software's assistance, making it a tad more stylish or a bit more prepared for off-road adventures.

So, what do you think – is Subaru coming out with a new Ascent to ward off the competition (Kia Telluride, Honda Pilot, Jeep Grand Cherokee, Toyota Highlander, etc.) which has not remained idle? Or are we better listening to the host of AutomagzPro, who thinks their virtual artist is on to something with the new Forester Hybrid?
