The Japanese automaker Toyota is about ready to wrap up the busy fall season with a double introduction at the 2023 Los Angeles Auto Show – the ninth Camry mid-size sedan and the first-ever Crown Signia crossover SUV.
Being the world's largest automaker comes with great responsibility – and Toyota needs all the power it can muster to resist the self-imposed tight schedule of new model and concept car premieres. Just think about this autumn – they rocked the inaugural Japan Mobility Show, formerly known as the Tokyo Motor Show, for almost seven decades.

Then, they also nailed a great show of force (Tacoma especially) at the 2023 SEMA Show in Las Vegas. But the trials and tribulations continue as they will feature in front of the audience at the 2023 LA Auto Show, the newly hybrid-exclusive XV80 Toyota Camry, and the all-new Crown Signia SUV.

This double presentation is nothing surprising for the company – this summer, Lexus did the same when they officially unveiled the first-ever TX three-row crossover SUV and the mighty GX off-road SUV. Interestingly, it seems that the imaginative realm of digital car content creators is calling for yet another double reveal to end the year on a high note.

The good folks over at the AutomagzTV and TheAutoReport channels on YouTube think there is room also to introduce the sixth generation 4Runner mid-size off-road SUV along with the revived fourth iteration of the Toyota MR2 sports car. What do you think? Is that even remotely possible, or is everything just wishful thinking?

As far as their resident pixel master is concerned, the peeps at AutomagzTV think the next 4Runner needs to reestablish itself as a true adventurer with a modern design that would wipe away the shame of leaving the same generation on the market for around a decade and a half. It would still be just as capable, only now it would also feature a contemporary design ethos.

On the other hand, TheAutoReport's CGI expert wants the MR2 rebirth to happen with the same coordinates – a mid-engine powertrain and an affordable MSRP. No one really knows if that will be possible or if Toyota will skip the plans to make it an ICE-powered hoot because of its refocus on EVs.

However, do take all these renderings with a hefty dose of salt, as nothing is official from Toyota just yet. For what it's worth, the 2024 Toyota 4Runner currently starts at no less than $40,455, so it's going to be interesting to see how the Japanese maker positions the 2024 Land Cruiser when it arrives at dealerships during the first quarter of next year. As for an MR2 alternative, there are currently three options – the GR86, GR Corolla, and GR Supra.
