After several teasers sprinkled with the occasional spy shot, Acura has finally announced the unveiling date of the upcoming ZDX. The all-electric crossover is due at the Monterey Car Week this month and will be officially shown to the public on August 17.
Styled at the brand's Design Studio and Southern California, the Acura ZDX was previewed by last year's Precision Concept. However, it was significantly toned down for production, with the nose not being that pointy anymore and the headlamps looking different. The closed-off grille is smaller, and the bumper has a cleaner look.

As you can imagine, the door handles are not hidden anymore, and instead of the side cameras, it gets traditional mirrors. The back end looks somewhat the same, but from what we can tell, the tailgate is not that tall, and the bumper is bigger and doesn't feature any vents. The three-quarter design is also different, and the taillights could mirror those of the study to some extent.

Accompanying the official announcement is a teaser image of the Acura ZDX in a dark background. Brightening it up reveals the shape and graphics of the LED headlights and the grille with surrounding lighting. We can also see that it has a muscular hood, a wide intake in the front bumper flanked by the vents, and a pair of small roof rails. The ground clearance appears to be a bit more generous than the concept's, and the wheels will also be new in all likelihood.

Expected to be underpinned by GM's Ultium architecture, the Acura ZDX will feature battery-electric power. We don't know anything about the drivetrain yet, but it could pack a dual-motor setup, at least on higher trim levels. On top of that, this will be the brand's first model to feature Google Services, with stuff such as the Maps, Assistant, and Play Store being integrated straight from the factory. It will also get premium audio signed by Bang & Olufsen as a result of the two companies signing a partnership.

Said to "put the driver experience first," the Type S variant will join the regular versions of the Acura ZDX and will "bring an exhilarating driving experience to the electric vehicle market," according to the Assistant Vice President of Acura National Sales, Emile Korkor. Not much is known about the Type S, but it should feature sportier styling on the outside, added gear in the cabin, a punchier motor, and perhaps some chassis enhancements.

The pricing details for the North American market will probably be kept a secret for now until the model goes on sale. And it has been confirmed that the ZDX will launch early next year, with deliveries likely commencing shortly after.
