Some four years after the launch of the original, the Suzuki Vitara Phase II model has just been presented to UK customers. It features two new engines, more equipment, and tweaked styling.
The Vitara is mostly looking like its old self because cosmetic changes aren't that radical. At the front, some may be keen-eyed enough to spot a new radiator grille with six vertical bars and chrome accents, a more defined front bumper, fog lamps and LED DRLs.

Meanwhile, the back of the little crossover has refreshed taillights which now feature LED tech. A couple of new colors have been added, including a metallic gold called Solar Yellow Pearl and the color we see in the photo gallery called Ice Greyish Blue. We've heard about it, but never seen it before.

The base model is the SZ4, and it includes pretty much everything you need, such as alloy wheels, USB and Bluetooth connectivity, cruise control with speed limited, auto air conditioning, plus front and rear electric windows. It's only available with the 1-liter turbo... more on that later.

The SZ-T trim 17-inch silver painted alloys, rear privacy glass, white stitching for seat trim fabric, Smartphone link audio and a navigation system. In this case, the 1-liter can be ordered with a 6-speed auto, or you could have the 1.4-liter turbo which is no longer a separate trim level.

Finally, there's the SZ5 with LED projector headlights, 17-inch polished alloys, suede seat fabric, keyless entry with start button, a sunroof, plus a lot of safety equipment like Traffic Sign Recognition, Blind Spot Monitoring, Adaptive Cruise Control, and Dual Sensor Brake Support. This can go all the way up to £25,650 when the 6-speed auto and ALLGRIP are fitted.

The two engines in question are already familiar. The 1.0 Boostjet can already be found on the Swift, making 111 PS and 170 Nm (125 lb-ft) of torque. Meanwhile, the bigger Turbo is shared with the Swift Sport and delivers 140 PS plus 220 Nm (162 lb-ft) of torque.
