The swept-back roofline of the Stinger and vehicle platform from the Hyundai Elantra GT makes the 2019 Kia Forte an interesting addition to the segment, and an exceptional improvement compared to the preceding model. Arriving in showrooms this fall, the compact sedan will start at $17,690 excluding the $895 destination charge.
In other words, the Forte costs $890 more than the 2018 model year. Despite the increase in retail price, Kia offers more standard equipment, even on the entry-level trim. The engine comes in the guise of a 2.0-liter four-cylinder with 147 horsepower, which can be had with a continuously variable transmission.

Opting for the CVT ($900) brings the EPA-rated fuel economy to 35 miles per gallon on the combined cycle. The Forte LX starts at $19,090 and the Forte S comes in at $20,190, with the range-topping Forte EX priced at $21,990. A “stronger competitor than ever in the compact segment” according to Cars Direct, the all-new model comes with 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment.

Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard, along with lane-keeping assist, lane departure warning, forward collision warning, and auto on/off headlights. Kia will introduce a “more exciting” Forte next year, set to develop 201 horsepower from the 1.6-liter turbo four-cylinder we know from the Hyundai Elantra Sport.

3.2 inches longer than before, the 2019 Kia Forte is among the roomiest car in its class thanks to 15.1 cubic feet of cargo capacity. Featuring 54-percent Advanced High-Strength Steel in its construction, the newcomer promises to drive better than the previous generation.

Customers who love their music loud, Kia is much obliged to make your wish come true with the 320-watt premium sound system developed by Harman Kardon. The stereo does its job through “a unique speaker hole pattern on the door panels and throughout the cabin.”

As with most modern automobiles, the Forte comes with an electric steering rack (Motor Driven Power Steering). Shortened to MDPS, the system promises reduced “artificial steering feel and friction” compared to the former generation of the Forte.
