Frankfurt 2013: Renault Initiale Paris Concept [Live Photos]
The future Espace appears to be gaining some crossover genes, as if the people mover realized extra traction and raised ground height won't hurt it.
Powering the concept is Renault's now familiar dCi 130 engine, a 1.6-liter diesel which has gained an extra turbo that boost torque to 400 Nm.
From a design point of view, the Initiate Paris is what you'd expect from a crossover MPV. The rear has the exact same design elements as the Scenic, but beefed up a bit with more muscular shoulder lines.
The grille and headlights are also typically Renault, but they have innovated in LED technology and fitted a brand new mesh grille design and spread it to cutouts in the alloy wheels and at the back of the car as well. The design is organic, a bit like the structure of coral.
In Frankfurt, the Initiale was joined by other concept cars from Renault's past, including the Capture crossover, Twin-Run, R-Space and Frendzy.
