BAC has just handed over the new Mono R supercar to US YouTuber Jordan Maron. The team worked on the bespoke high-performance single-seater for a whole year before they made it a perfect fit for the new owner.
The handover took place at BAC's new facility in New Port Beach, California. During the build, BAC worked closely with YouTuber Jordan Maron to turn his car into a one-of-a-kind vehicle and make it according to his exact specifications.

It eventually turned out to be a lightweight machine, "unlike anything else you can buy," says Ian Briggs, BAC co-founder and designer director. No creative constraints, no technical limitations. This was the plan of the team when Jordan came up with his vision of the car.

Throughout the build, the team sent Jordan several renders to check with him and make sure that they reflected his preferences. The car sports a shark-nose-front end, while, at the opposite end, there is the aerodynamically optimized rear. The Mono R is treated with a three-coat red carbon, based on the company's graphene-infused carbon technology.

The model sports contrasting accents as a gloss tint runs along the main body and side pods, and a satin hue highlights the rear wing edges and the tips of the air diffuser. It rides on carbon hybrid wheels finished in head-turning Sunburst Gold paintwork. The color scheme transitions from the body paint to the stitching on the seat and steering wheel.

The super sports cockpit of the BAC Mono R is built around the driver for the perfect fit. That is exactly why Jordan Maron travels to Liverpool, United Kingdom. At the BAC's headquarters, the team made the seat design to correspond to the owner's specific body contours. The steering wheel is also tailored and positioned to fit the driver. "I took the world's quickest trip to the UK knowing that I’d otherwise regret not doing so," says Jordan after taking a seat in what he calls "the most comfortable I’ve had in a car."

Launched during the Monterey Car Week at the House of BAC in Carmel Valley, California, the Mono R is powered by a naturally aspirated 2.5-liter powertrain, which revs to 8,800 rpm and generates 343 horsepower (348 PS) and 243 lb-ft (330 Nm) of torque. The engine has to pull a lightweight body, which only weighs around 1,224 pounds (555 kilograms). The single-seater only needs 2.5 seconds to flash from 0 to 60 mph (0 to 97 kph). Top speed is limited to 170 mph (274 kph).

After the delivery, Jordan Maron hit the highway for a ride along the coast of the Pacific Ocean. There is no info on how much the YouTuber paid for the vehicle. But the base price is around $200,000.
