Labeled as 'a (proper) balance of extremes,' the newly updated 2024 BAC Mono takes its place in the small manufacturer's lineup after a presentation during Monterey Car Week, and with production already on its way, the first delivery will occur immediately after the California events are over.
When the summer began, some automakers entered the usual dormant state of holidays. Not the Briggs Automotive Company, though. Instead, the brand revealed major new growth plans with recent locations across the United States – as it sees the North American expansion as a significant opportunity to deliver an unprecedented retail presence in the region.

Case in point, now there's a 'House of BAC' "nestled within the heartlands of Carmel Valley," which is a ranch sitting "a stone's throw away from The Quail, the legendary automotive gathering that this year takes place the day after the global debut of BAC's new supercar." That is where the 2024 Mono was unveiled, and that's also the start of the first official BAC participation at the world-acclaimed Monterey Car Week.

"Launching the new Mono supercar at Monterey Car Week perfectly encapsulates the brilliant trajectory of BAC," said Mike Flewitt, BAC chairman, at the 'House of BAC' in Carmel. "Not only is this the first time the company has been in an official capacity at Monterey Car Week, but we have chosen this iconic setting to show to the world our latest high-performance single-seater creation, a development that forms the basis of BAC's core product offering as it continues to expand around the world. Mono places driver experience at the forefront, regardless of if that experience is on the road or the track."

But enough with the general considerations, we have a new Mono in the 'House of BAC' to look at. Already in production at the company's HQ facility in Liverpool, UK, and with orders swarming from around the world, the 2024 model year version of the Mono is almost the same but also different. More precisely, it's the base (aka "the nucleus of the brand's core product offering") version but also a cornerstone for the company to maintain its current global expansion momentum.

The enhancements include a subtly tweaked design inspired by the extreme Mono R, suspension upgrades front and rear ("50% more anti-dive on the front and 50% more anti-squat on the rear"), and a slightly updated powertrain. The naturally-aspirated 2.5-liter engine revs to 8,000 rpm and develops 311 hp and 313 Nm (231 lb-ft) of torque. All in all, that's enough for a power-to-weight ratio of 546 hp-per-ton (570 kg/1,257 lbs) and a sprint to 60 mph (96 kph) in just 2.7 seconds – primarily thanks to the "world-leading graphene-infused carbon fiber panels."
