Classic cars come in most shapes and sizes, and your next old-timer could be a few mouse clicks away. Is it hiding in this 1980 Pontiac Firebird? You'd get your fellow petrolheads appreciation if you buy it, as it has a long history behind it and a very appealing engine under the hood – as long as you're into turbocharged mills, that is.
You don't need to breathe petrol fumes to tell that it was an official Indy Pace Car at one point. After all, the decals on the sides say so, and the front windscreen reveals its name, just in case you cannot tell the defunct brand that made it back in the day. It has the firebird depicted on the hood because it came to life over forty years ago in the eponymous configuration and is presented in white with matching wheels and BFGoodrich tires with white branding.

For an example that does not appear to have been fully restored (the ad doesn't say anything about that), it is in good condition inside and out. The interior has beige upholstery wrapped around the seats, a three-spoke steering wheel that was partially wrapped in leather, a basic automatic gear shifter on the center console, a pair of air vents that are not there for show and tell purposes as they can blow hot or cold air, power windows, traditional gauges, and an old-school radio. It also sports a pair of T-tops that can be removed to let more natural light into the cabin.

Power steering and power brakes are on deck, and since we've said the word power three times already, we might as well mention the engine too. It is a 301-ci V8 that features turbocharging. The 4.9-liter unit with forced induction was good for 200 horsepower back in the day, though we reckon some of those horses went AWOL over the years. After all, we're talking about a vehicle that is 43 years old, as it was made in 1980. The odometer reads 49,081 miles (78,988 km), and besides the pricing, this is where the details stop, as the ad on GarageKeptMotors does not reveal any other juicy detail about it.

But how much does it cost? That would be $44,900. Is it a good deal? You be the judge of that, and while you're at it, feel free to tell us what you would do to make it even better if it fell in your lap. A full restoration would be welcomed to breathe new life into it, though that would require spending a small fortune and, unless you're planning on having a specialized shop do it, many sleepless nights, too. So, is this classic muscle car your next ride?
