Slowly but steadily, luxury SUV rivals are starting to get the jibbers about the North American aftermarket career of the 2022 Range Rover newcomer. Alas, sometimes there is nothing to worry about.
We have seen the 2024 Mercedes-Maybach GLS preparing itself to go under the facelift specialist’s knife to better fight the upcoming new introductions such as the refreshed BMW X7 or the already-released Land Rover Range Rover. And, over in America, the latter is certainly trying to make a name for its fifth iteration self across the aftermarket realm.
Interestingly, many of the recent builds featuring the posh Land Rover have been centered around subtle transformations such as a quick wrap session or a suspension lowering job to better fit a nice set of aftermarket wheels. And the Los Angeles, California-based, forged wheel experts over at Forgiato Designs have been among the most prolific targets as far as the latter is concerned.
Now, they have (social media) uncovered what should have been yet another tasty build that could have nailed all the chapters if not for a gross judgment error. As such, they recently highlighted one of the latest build projects from Houston-based Auto Suite Customs, a 2022 Range Rover “big body” that went straight from the dealership into their shop as per a local hospitality entrepreneur’s query.
It naturally and casually ended up there for what should have been the subtle aftermarket trifecta: a white to gray color change by way of a full wrap (including door jambs), a sportier suspension setting that integrates with the new aftermarket wheels, and a set of larger rims to better stand out in the posh Range Rover crowd. Alas, this one only has two of them – the wrap and Forgiato’s 24-inch forged aftermarket wheels.
So, what happened with the lowering setup? Well, it is either completely missing in action or the crew forgot to hunker it down for the video and photo shoot, allowing this 2022 Range Rover to look a bit like someone riding on stilts…
