Wimmer RS Boosts the Ariel Atom

If you’re making a list of one of the most extreme driving machines in the world, the Ariel Atom should really be included on it. This is because the trackday toy manages to deliver a multitude of sensations per second, taking its driver into another world.

But what if you took the game to an even higher level? What if you let an aftermarket sorcerer work his magic on the Atom? This piece of news is aimed at offering an answer to the question.

We’ll start by mentioning that we are talking about the Ariel Atom 3 300, a vehicle that is powered by a 2.0 liter Honda unit, which uses turbocharging to deliver 300 hp. All this horses only have to move around 469 kg (1034 lbs).

The vehicle has been targeted by Wimmer RS, receiving a power boost in order to deliver a top experience. The aftermarket developer has played with the turbo, fuel pump, air intake, has installed a new exhaust system that uses Rennkat components and has remapped the ECU. The vehicle’s powerplant now allows the driver to play with 340 hp and 282 Nm (208 lb-ft).

This output can be translated into a 0 to 62 mph sprint time of 2.8 seconds. As for the 0 to 124 mph (200 km/h) game, this is completed in 7.1 seconds.

Direct air suction sounds like a hissing, and by this modification, exhaust system with optimized back pressure from Wimmer RS allows to hide the entire power behind the seat, so you will hear a wonderful sound,” stated the press release.
