Who in their right mind would think that what Mercedes' C63 AMG needs is more power? Well, tuning company Wimmer did, as they created a Level 3 engine tuning kit as well as other custom touches to the suspension and exterior look of the luxury sports saloon.
The Wimmer Mercedes C63 AMG Performance, as it’s called, develops 580 hp and 690 Nm of torque. The increase in power comes thanks to new air filter, exhaust and ECU remapping. The car’s top speed has not changed from the electronically limited 305 km/h (190 mph).
The tuning company will fit a high flow air filter from K&M and a new optimized air induction system at their facility in Solingen, Germany. The Wimmer Mercedes C63 AMG Performance also features an RS-Sport exhaust system, featuring a manifold with down pipe, a sports catalyst and optimized cat-back, all made of stainless steel.
On the outside, the vehicle looks practically the same as the stock C63 AMG apart from some stickers. New double spoke design alloys wrapped in Dunlop Sport Maxx GT tires have however been fitted.
The Wimmer performance kit also included a KW-Club Sport Suspension package. Prices for the kit is EUR9,900 ($13,800), including installation.
The factory C63 has a revised front bumper, taken from the CLK 63 AMG Black Series. First launched in 2007, it has a 6.3-liter engine producing 450 hp (340 kW), coupled with a 7G-Tronic SpeedShift gearbox. The most powerful factory version of the C-Klasse to date is the DR520 2011 limited-edition model, with power rating of 520 hp (390 kW) and 480 ft.lb (650 Nm) of torque.
