The highly controversial and just as much anticipated production Tesla Cybertruck is out, and everyone wants a piece of it. Price, range, output, capabilities, they have all been dissected time and again in the past 24 hours. Now, Unplugged Performance comes up with ways to upgrade the EV.
It is a new chapter in Tesla tuning for Unplugged Performance. The Up Invincible product line is exclusively designed for the electric pickup truck that has just started deliveries. The first ten Cybetrucks have been handed over to their new owners during a special event held at the Giga Texas, where the production kicked off back in the summer, on November 30.
The Up Invincible is for those who want to take their vehicle to a whole new level both on and off the road. The company revealed the set of accessories right after the event organized by Tesla, at its headquarters in Hawthorne, California, not far from the Tesla Design Studio, SpaceX, and Starlink.
The event drew quite a crowd, which proved, once again, the high level of interest that the Cybertruck gets. It is, though, a vehicle that has been expected for a whole four years, since its official unveiling back in November 2019.
The accessories that the Up Invincible comes up with are designed to make the vehicle look more robust and rugged, as well as more capable regardless of the environment. It includes an extensive off-road and overloading product line.
The list of products includes the heavy-duty steel bumpers and rock sliders, the carbon fiber body panels, which would replace the original ones made of stainless steel, and powerful LED light bars. Bed storage solutions and the MOLLE panel design, as well as a suite of suspension products are also on the menu.
Customers can choose from several lift kits, despite the fact that the vehicle already sports a ground clearance of 16 inches (406 milliters), new wheel designs including a purpose-built deadlock wheel, but also underbody armor. There is no armor covering the body of the Cybertruck, though.
During the presentation, Elon Musk only said the body of the vehicle is "rock-proof" and "bullet-tough," but that is as far as he has gone when it came to the Cybertruck. Back in 2019, the truck was indeed supposed to be bulletproof. Furthermore, Tesla carried out tests to check how well the sides of the car can withstand being shot at.
The products that Unplugged Performance offers will start being shipped in early December to reach customers while they are still enthusiastic about the new or future Cybetruck.
Unplugged also showed renderings of the UP.FIT's vision of the electric pickup truck, with the intention to come up with Cybertruck-based police and military vehicles.
