Even though Lexus is right on track with their BMW M and the Mercedes-Benz AMG rivals, Toyota Motorsport Germany (TMG) thinks the luxury brand could do better. And to prove that, they’ve developed a Lexus LS-based “racer for the track”.
Dubbed TMG 650 and powered by a twin-turbocharged 5.0-liter V8 engine, the four-door sedan boast around 800 HP and looks like it could give its German competitors a good run for their money.
Unfortunately for most of us gearheads, Alastair Moffit of Toyota Motorsport Germany says there are no immediate plans to put such a vehicle on the production line. However, he adds that the TMG 650 could open the way for future project.
“We really wanted to create a Formula 1 car combined with a limousine (...) We would like to think that some of the areas we’ve shown on this car will lead into future projects for us at TMG,” said Moffit.
