The tiny house movement has grown considerably and has gained quite a robust and invested following in the last few years. Though the idea seems inconceivable for some, a lot of folks dream about downsizing and living in a compact dwelling. This means tiny house ideas are now more abundant than ever.
Regardless of their shape, size, or form, tiny homes enable a simpler, more minimalist lifestyle, more freedom, and a deeper connection with nature. And with so many designs popping up every day, whether you are a single person, a couple, or a growing family looking to downsize or realize your homeownership dream, there is bound to be a small, efficient, and cozy dwelling that you can call home.

The model we're going to present here is for the latter category. Designed as a family-friendly tiny house on wheels, the Rylie model from Canada's MMRH Tiny Homes provides more space and creature comforts than one might expect from a compact, mobile dwelling.

Built on a quad-axle trailer, this home measures 40 feet (12.2 meters) in length, 10 feet (3 meters) in width, and 13 feet (4 meters) in height. The extra width means it can't be towed on a driver's license, so owners will need a special permit to move it from one place to another. But all the effort is worth it, considering the enhanced comfort a few extra feet can provide. The length is also nearly double that of most tiny homes on the market, allowing for a truly luxurious layout.

The Crysler, Ontario-based builder behind the Rylie design is still fairly new to the tiny house world, with just three models in their portfolio. However, with excellent craftsmanship, thoughtful designs, and efficient use of space, they can build you a dream home.

The Rylie tiny home is on the bigger side, so it offers generous interior space. As such, it was easy to integrate everything a family needs for comfortable minimalist living. The layout includes a spacious living room, a gourmet kitchen, a bathroom, and not one, not two, but three bedrooms, one on the main floor and two in the twin lofts. In total, this micro-dwelling offers sleeping space for up to six people.

The master bedroom downstairs looks just like a regular room in a conventional house and comes with plenty of perks. It offers standing height, fits a queen or king-size bed, and comes with ample storage in the form of six drawers integrated under the bed platform. Moreover, it offers privacy, there is enough space to walk around the bed, and it is filled with natural light thanks to a couple of large windows.

The lofted sleeping spaces are also quite spacious, both being able to accommodate double beds, with some extra space for small wardrobes or cabinets. The lofts can be accessed via dedicated staircases with lowered platforms and have no separation walls, offering residents unobstructed views of the main floor below and contributing to an overall sense of openness.

As in many tiny dwellings, the kitchen occupies the center of the structure and is seamlessly connected to the living room, so whoever is cooking dinner in this house can still engage in conversations with the members of the family who are spending their evenings in the lounge.

The cooking area integrates plenty of brown base and upper cabinets and stainless steel appliances, giving the space a modern aesthetic. Quartz countertops and a neat, light-toned backsplash add contrast and enhance the elegance of the kitchen.

The kitchen is spacious enough to be equipped with a wide range of appliances, including an electric range, a range hood, a refrigerator, a convection microwave, and a double sink.

The adjacent living room is commodious enough to be furnished with a large couch and a center table to create a cozy lounge space. The area under the staircase leading to the above loft can be used as an office space, with a built-in desk and cabinets.

The bathroom inside Rylie is a pass-through design and is separated from the common living area by a full door. It is a spacious, three-piece bath with a toilet, a large vanity with sink, and a shower. Additional storage cabinets flank the mirror above the sink.

The two-tone exterior of the Rylie tiny house is clad in a contrasting combination of white-painted timber and brown metal siding. There is only one entrance door but a myriad of windows throughout, which let plenty of sunshine penetrate inside. As for the interior finishings, the designers used tiled flooring, wood panels on all the walls, and stained wood ceilings.

With its sleek design, spacious interior, and modern creature comforts, the Rylie tiny home is a versatile living space. Though it's been designed as a comfortable family home for permanent living, it would work just as well as a luxury vacation rental. MMRH Tiny Homes is asking CAD $178,000 for this model, which translates to approximately US $132,600 at current exchange rates.
