There can only be love at first side when it comes to the Halcyon Lux. This outstanding design was inspired by a highly customized home built for a creative owner, and it quickly became one of the most popular models offered by the Canadian builder Fritz Tiny Homes despite the intimidating price.
You could get a perfectly fine tiny home with generous accommodation and high-quality appliances for around $50,000, but if you're searching for true luxury, and if exquisite aesthetics are just as vital for you as hot water, be prepared to triple that sum.

The concept of luxury tiny living is still controversial because it seems to go against what the tiny house movement is all about. Yet, for several years now, various builders and their ingenious models have proven that not everything is black or white and that a sustainable lifestyle with a minimal environmental footprint can be compatible with the highest standards of living and architectural performance.

The Halcyon Lux by Fritz Tiny Homes has a somewhat unusual origin. Initially, the Canadian builder brought to life a custom, ultra-luxurious home on wheels for a creative customer on Vancouver Island.

Some of those customizations, the ones that were considered the best, were then integrated into a new variation of the iconic Halcyon design and made available for other customers. That is how Halcyon Lux was born, and its name couldn't have been more appropriate. It's the luxurious, sophisticated interpretation of an already popular design and one that deserves to be in the hall of fame of all tiny houses.

Don't expect flashy or over-the-top décor or gratuitous amenities. In line with contemporary trends, this home is all about high-end minimalism. Function and comfort still prevail despite the extreme attention to detail when it comes to aesthetics and interior style. The Halcyon Lux is not an art gallery, a museum, or even an exotic vacation resort; it's a warm, welcoming home designed for residential comfort.

It instantly catches the eye with a sleek, dark silhouette that looks both ultra-modern and timeless. The powerful visual effect is mainly owed to the 20-inch steel snaplock siding. Multiple large windows and glass doors create that indoor/outdoor flow that most tiny home owners are looking for.

Quality is in the details. All of the eight windows are made of fiberglass, and instead of just one, there are two entrance doors. One is a back door leading into a compact hall area with a practical, full-height closet for convenient storage. The main entry, a glass sliding door, connects the house with the patio, seamlessly turning the living area into an indoor/outdoor entertainment area. Inside, the quality of the materials is one of the most striking qualities.

The stunning ceiling, in contrast to the white walls, is made of vertical-grain hemlock that was thermally modified. The dimmable LED lighting is a perfect addition to a relaxing atmosphere that's also big on style. In addition to the high-quality wood, the large concrete tile throughout is another luxury accent that stands out. It's custom-made, just like all the cabinetry and millwork.

Concrete is one of the signature materials used in Fritz Tiny Homes models, allowing for deeper customization and a contemporary, urban look. Inside the Halcyon Lux, it was mainly used to create a unique bathroom. The single-piece custom concrete design with a custom concrete vanity and a back-lit mirror is absolutely unexpected – it's not something you ever find in basic tiny homes and an exquisite feature that instantly elevates the overall style. To that, customers can add either a full-size shower or a classic bathtub and choose between a conventional or a waterless toilet.

Refined details also include the staircase with integrated storage and the wooden loft railing. While typical tiny house staircases are bulky, this one is streamlined and delicate, with top storage instead of the usual side storage. It leads to the beautiful master bedroom with a sophisticated railing doubling as a protection wall that doesn't interrupt the line of sight.

Halcyon Lux's loft bedroom is, first of all, big enough to fit a lavish two-person bed, with enough space for additional storage. Large windows on each side add much-needed natural light, complemented by the back-lit feature headboard (a sophisticated touch that also cleverly saves space).

Downstairs, a wonderful lounge dominates the main floor. It's the largest living room of any of the Fritz Tiny Homes models, and it shows, with a gorgeous, huge window creating the illusion of an even wider space. The generous, L-shaped kitchen turns the Halcyon Lux into a fresh, modern family home. It's fully packed with top-quality appliances, including a full-size fridge that discretely separates the kitchen area from the rest of the house. Ample cooking and dining space is one of the must-haves of a luxury house, while the large windows add luminosity from all angles.

Halcyon Lux's least attractive feature is the price. It starts at a whopping $180,200 (CDN 250,100), which is certainly a lot for a one-bedroom home on wheels. It all depends on the point of view. One thing is unquestionable – the "lux" part is not overstated. This stunning model is indeed a real showstopper, starting with its looks and going down to the smallest details.
