Koenigsegg has just delivered the first Jesko to the United Kingdom. It is one of the 125 examples to be made. The key of the car is a work of art and can do a magic trick!
The car that has just arrived from the the factory in Angelholm, Sweden, in London is chassis 7382, a Koenigsegg Jesko Attack painted in Chilly Red. Low-slung and muscular, the hypercar looks like a rocket on wheels.

The Jesko key is from another world. It comes cased in a tube made of carbon fiber with machined aluminum ends, with the signature of the company’s founder, Christian von Koenigsegg. Inside, there is the machined aluminum fob holder that supports the key itself. The key is in Desiato leather, matching the interior of the car.

A button on the key pops open the frunk lid, hood lid, and dihedral synchs-helix doors. This is called Ghost Mode, making the car like it just got out of the Transformers series.

The hood lid covers the rear-mounted 5.0-liter turbocharged flat-plane crank V8, which generates 1,600 horsepower (1,622 PS) and 1,106 lb-ft (1,500 Nm) on E85 biofuel. Normal gasoline tones it down to 1,280 horsepower (1,298 PS) and 738 lb-ft (1,000 Nm).

The Jesko Attack that we have here has a dry weight of 3,131 pounds (1,420 kilograms), which is similar to how much the Porsche 911 GT3 RS weighs: 3,153 pounds (1,430 kilograms). But the Koenigsegg comes with over 1,000 horsepower more than what the Porsche has. The V8 is linked to the in-house developed nine-speed multi-clutch innovative LST (Light Speed Transmission).

The front end hosts the frunk, a space where you cannot store the roof when you unclick it off the car. The cooling system does not leave much space in there.

The car rides on 20-inch aluminum wheels at the front and 21-inch units at the rear with Michelin Sport Cup 2 tires.

What gets all the attention on board is the instrument cluster mounted on the carbon fiber steering wheel. Yet, no matter the position of the steering wheel, the image is self-leveling, so the driver will not need to twist and turn to read it.

Another cool feature on board is the optional analog G-Force meter. The moment the engine starts, it sounds like an explosion. Revving the engine is like fireworks.

Koenigsegg will only build 125 Jeskos, at a rate of 40 to 50 per year, which is quite a progress compared to the 25 Agera RSs and the 80 Regeras that the Swedish carmaker built and sold. Apparently, the $3 million base price plus taxes is not scaring customers off. Unveiled at the 2019 Geneva Motor Show, the Jesko has reportedly been sold before the show was over.
