Rust is pretty much the worst thing that can happen to a car, and we’ve all seen what it can do to a small piece of metal stored in improper conditions.
Unfortunately for car aficionados out there, this small piece of metal is often a classic model that, for some reason, was left in the middle of nowhere without any intention of ever bringing it back to the road.
On the other hand, this is what makes barn finds so cool, as they’re pretty much the second chance an abandoned car can receive.
The 1970 Charger that we have here, however, no longer gets that second chance for a reason as simple as it could be: too much rust. As the owner of the car themselves explains on eBay, this Charger is “very, very rusty,” and the photos included in the listing are the living confirmation in this regard.
While this Charger has obviously been transformed into a rust bucket, you can still notice the styling changes introduced by Dodge in 1970, including the new grille that no longer featured a divider in the middle. The wraparound chrome is still there, and judging from the photos, it’s actually in fair condition, which means one could eventually use it on another Charger.
In fact, this is what makes this Charger worth checking out. While it’s very clear saving it would be pretty much mission impossible, the car can always be used for parts, especially because the owner says it’s “almost complete.” While this is something the buyer would have to check out in person, you should also keep in mind that the front seats are already missing, possibly after finding a new home on another Charger.
As for the price, it goes without saying a rust bucket can’t be too expensive. And it isn’t, though the Internet will be the one to decide how much it’s worth. The auction is currently live on eBay, and the highest bid at the time of writing is $2,800.
