People who want to switch to a more economical, eco-friendly, and authentic lifestyle aspire to become tiny homeowners. However, though affordability has been touted as one of the main pillars of tiny living, budget-friendly tiny houses built with quality and comfort in mind are few and far between.
Many folks have come to believe you still need a high budget to build a comfortable tiny house on wheels, but that's not always the case, and the Blue compact home here is proof that you can have a well-configured, cozy, and feature-packed small dwelling without emptying your bank account.

Designed and crafted by Great Lakes Tiny Homes, a family-run business based in Michigan, the Blue tiny house on wheels is priced at just $64,400 and offers a beautiful, comfortable abode for a travel-loving couple or small family who are passionate about living a more sustainable lifestyle. It is RVIA-certified and is built on a double-axle trailer measuring 24 feet in length and 8.5 feet in width.

One of the greatest things about living in a mobile compact dwelling is that you can enjoy the freedom to relocate at will, wake up to a different landscape every day, or even lease land for longer periods if you get attached to a certain location and decide to settle. This is exactly what the Blue tiny home has been designed for - to offer its owners the perks of mobile living as well as a slew of modern amenities for comfortable living.

This small yet beautifully handcrafted house boasts an eye-catching, colorful exterior that combines standing seam metal siding painted a calming yet vibrant shade of blue with stained cedar accents that give it a rustic vibe. A gable roof and a covered entrance porch enhance this home's charm.

But there is so much more to this micro-dwelling than its outside curb appeal. The interior blends a clever layout with remarkably warm and cozy styling and is equipped with all the essentials to make it a home as you travel the world. It's neither too big nor too small and comprises a snug living room, a full kitchen, a well-equipped bathroom, and two loft bedrooms open to the space downstairs.

The blue and natural wood color combination continues on the inside of the house, which feels traditional yet modern at the same time, making it perfect for a relaxed, laid-back lifestyle. The designers used smooth MDF siding for the interior walls and painted them blue to match the exterior. The wood-paneled ceilings, timber accents around the windows, and pine cabinetry are a perfect match for the colorful walls to enhance the welcoming atmosphere.

As you enter the house through the back door, you're welcome by an open-plan layout that makes the interior look more spacious than it actually is. Unlike most tiny houses on the market, the Blue tiny has a small space near the entry that could be used as a vestibule. Oftentimes, this area of the house seems small and inconsequential, so it is easy to get overlooked, especially in tiny houses where space is at a premium.

Blue's vestibule area comprises a fold-down table under a porthole window and a tall closet for jackets, coats, shoes, and bags. It's a great place to put small personal items like keys, sunglasses, mail, and even your purse as you enter the house. You can even add a small stool or bench to sit on while putting on shoes. However, there is plenty of versatility to the design, so this space can also be used as a small home workspace or dining space.

The kitchen and living room basically intertwine inside this home and occupy most of the ground floor. There is space for a small couch for lounging on one side, while the kitchen lies on the other side. It includes plenty of pine cabinets with no doors, which make the space appear larger and enhance the rustic aesthetic. Moreover, everything you need for cooking is easy to organize and within reach.

Functionality is ensured by a farmhouse-style steel sink, a four-burner cooktop, an oven, and a full-size fridge. There is plenty of space for open shelves on the walls if the owners need even more storage for kitchen essentials.

Hidden behind a sliding timber door, the bathroom is fitted with all the basics, including a shower, a vanity, a toilet (flush or compost), and a stacked washer/dryer combo. A couple of special details make this bathroom stand out, like the beautiful glass-enclosed shower with pebble tile flooring and the leaf-shaped copper sink.

As for the sleeping arrangements, this home features two lofts that can accommodate four people. Both can be accessed via custom staircases with a neat space-saving design. Though they have the typical low-ceiling loft design, they offer cozy sleeping spaces surrounded by windows and overlooking the open space downstairs.

Adorable, functional, and cozy, the Blue tiny house can be a comfortable mobile abode for travel lovers but would also make a perfect vacation home in the middle of nature.
