If you're interested in an eye-catching exterior, the Starling tiny house by Rewild Homes might not be the best choice. This family-sized gooseneck-style house on wheels is not about a colorful, artistic silhouette, but don't be fooled by its apparent simplicity; this home's interior is absolutely dazzling and unique.
Goosenecks are increasingly popular due to their unique advantages compared to regular tiny homes. They're typically wide choices for families or couples who require additional space to work from home, and the extra height adds a level of comfort that is reminiscent of traditional homes. The Starling design has all of that and more. It's surprisingly sophisticated, well-equipped, and as comfortable as it gets. It boasts a spacious loft bedroom and a main-floor bedroom with an atypical layout, plus a U-shaped kitchen that everyone will love.

As austere as it is on the outside, Starling surprises guests with a vibrant, rich interior style that incorporates chocolate-tone wood and mint green pieces of furniture. One of the most spectacular features style-wise is the loft bedroom railing. Apart from its functional role, this is a work of art in its own right. It's an open-work design made of aluminum, and it came from the local Vancouver Island artist Wroughtenart. This custom-made railing alone becomes the centerpiece of Starling's interior, adding personality and a touch of luxury.

It's also the perfect complement to the beautifully crafted loft bedroom. Like any gooseneck loft, it's big on space and well-positioned for maximum comfort and easy access. Windows on both sides bring in enough natural light and ensure proper airflow. In addition to a queen-sized bed, there's enough space for a large built-in closet. The unique railing acts as a protection wall without obstructing the panoramic view of the entire house.

Owners can access this bedroom using the built-in staircase. Although it includes storage, this staircase is different from the bulkier ones we typically find in tiny houses with lofts. This one is slim and fitted with an elegant wooden handrail, which leaves room for an unusually large, U-shaped kitchen and a full-size fridge. It also creates a beautiful, seamless transition into the lounge area, which is another unique treat.

Starling's lounge is unlike most living room setups through its versatility. We know that dining options are usually rare when it comes to compact homes on wheels, where, most often, the kitchen countertop doubles as a breakfast bar. Yet the Starling gooseneck offers generous options. On one hand, the custom-made lounge furniture can switch from a classic large sofa to a diner-style setup with a pop-up table and seats on each side. On the other hand, the U-shaped kitchen countertop features an extension that functions as a snack bar for one or two people.

Having multiple dining options also means that Starling's owners can welcome guests and enjoy family meals without too much trouble. As for the kitchen, it's spectacular not only due to the sophisticated craftsmanship with wide beams and recessed ceiling lighting but also due to its family-friendly layout. We've mentioned the full-size fridge, and it's accompanied by a large, farmhouse-style sink, a full-size oven, and traditional cupboards that ensure ample storage. The 24-inch oven runs on propane, and the fridge is a high-efficiency model with a bottom freezer.

This gooseneck sports an unusual, raised main-floor bedroom. It's not a loft, and it's not a classic master bedroom, either. There are a couple of built-in steps leading to it, and a tall wall separates this room and the bathroom from the lounge/dining area while also doubling as a clever solution for storage and additional décor.

There's only one window inside this bedroom, but what makes it special is the unusual height. It boasts 6.6 feet (2 meters) ceilings, which make it seem considerably more spacious. Although intended as a second bedroom, it's versatile enough for many other purposes. Its main advantage is privacy, and it's also easy to access.

Starling's bathroom also stands out due to its height above all. Taking full advantage of the gooseneck structure, this bathroom boasts seven-foot (2.1 meters) ceilings, in addition to the generous surface. Instead of a compact shower cabin, this bathroom has enough room for a classic bathtub with a discrete glass panel and an elegant vanity. The toilet is a composting one, and there's extra storage space above it.

Propane heating and an on-demand propane water heater are also part of Starling's top-notch equipment, as well as a washer/dryer unit. This generous-sized home is packed for maximum comfort in every way. It really shows what a gooseneck can do, especially when it's paired with impeccable craftsmanship.

Rewild Homes will become ten years old this year, and it was a decade of incredible growth and support for the tiny living phenomenon. Remarkable builds like the Starling gooseneck continue to demonstrate the real value and potential of mobile living to the highest standards.
