While tiny house design continues to evolve and expand beyond America's borders, certain features and models can be seen as classic compared to the latest innovations and bold reinterpretations. The Canadian-designed West Coast tiny house is not a game changer but a reliable model that has proven to be highly successful. There are several reasons why this is the flagship of Simply Living Stattonrock and for its enduring popularity.
West Coast could be described as the quintessential tiny home, if there is such a thing. Although we're talking about a highly diverse sector, where size limitations were seen as a challenge and not a restriction, this particular design embodies features and principles that have become classic over the past years. West Coast is not for those who want to experiment, innovate, or ditch standard housing altogether. It's a remarkably balanced mix of traditional housing benefits and the advantages of modern tiny living.

Simply Living Stattonrock's flagship is described as the most versatile in the Canadian brand’s range. It's versatile in terms of space because it can comfortably accommodate at least two people and a maximum of six. This makes it a great option for couples and families alike.

Next, the two-loft configuration allows greater flexibility when deciding on the final layout. These areas were both designed to become comfortable bedrooms. Still, future owners can decide to use only one as a bedroom and turn the second room into an office, lounge, playroom, or anything else, depending on their lifestyle.

The large living room is another versatile area. It's configured as a living/dining room with ample space for a comfy sofa and a breakfast bar. When needed, the convertible sofa provides extra accommodation. At the same time, the breakfast bar can double as a desk for a modern home office.

The classic style, generous accommodation, and premium construction enable the West Coast tiny to work just as great as a home for permanent living, a vacation home in a natural setting, or a rental home. It's built to last, fully certified, and close enough to conventional comfort levels to satisfy any demands.

The 26-foot (7.9 meters) West Coast is neither too small nor too big. The generous 284-square-foot (26 square meters) surface includes a full kitchen, a full bathroom, a large living/dining area, and two spacious rooms upstairs. Style-wise, the beautiful all-white shiplap walls and numerous oversized windows create a bright and airy ambiance inspired by traditional farmhouses and unique views of the Pacific Northwest.

The West Coast tiny's layout is classic for homes on wheels. You have an open-plan main floor with a kitchen and a living room that doubles as a dining area, plus a bathroom at the end of the house and a typical staircase/ladder setup for accessing the loft areas.

The main loft unfolds over 52 square feet (4.8 square meters), boasting a distinctive protection wall. Often, this is a simple wooden railing, but in this case, it's a solid wall that ensures true privacy. The room isn't as luminous as other tiny house bedrooms that have more windows, but it does include a beautiful skylight.

The second loft space can only fit in a queen-sized bed (if used as a bedroom) and is accessed via a simple ladder. By integrating a storage staircase and a ladder instead of other options, the team at Simply Living Stattonrock freed up more space for the main floor area. The kitchen and bathroom are fitted with all the basics. Customers can also opt for a washer/dryer unit, a furniture package, and butcher-block countertops.

The West Coast Tiny was also designed to be highly efficient. All dwellings built by Simply Living are high-performance homes, meaning that they're built to standards that are even higher than the BC (British Columbia) Building Code. High-quality insulation translates to better comfort in any season (something that clearly differentiates tiny homes from simple RVs), reduced living expenses and bills, and sustainability.

Plus, this brand uses an advanced ventilation system paired with a ceramic regenerative heat exchanger instead of the typical energy recovery ventilators. This could be a better option in terms of health, especially for those who are prone to allergies. Permanent living in a tiny home shouldn't be just about comfort and affordability but primarily about health.

Simply Living builds tiny homes, park model trailers, and modular houses while staying open to custom builds as well. All of these are 100% certified. The key thing here is that Simply Living is the tiny house brand of an established house-building company.

Stattonrock Design + Build was founded in 2007 and gradually became an expert in high-performance, net-zero-certified homes. It started adding mobile living alternatives mainly as a solution for affordable housing, keeping all the benefits and high-quality standards of its conventional homes.

A modern classic and a popular model, the West Coast tiny home is currently on sale until the end of June 2023, at C$ 129,999 ($98,400) from C$152,199 ($115,00).
