Man caves stand as a symbol for those of us that just need a place to retreat the soul and mind. This time around, we'll be exploring the Man Cave crafted by California's KJE Tiny Homes. As you'd expect, it's a mobile habitat filled with the comforts and luxuries wished for by one man.
If the name KJE sounds familiar, it's because we've featured their works on countless occasions. With an ability to craft tiny homes to an owner's particular needs and wants, it's no wonder that this family-owned business has risen to be considered one of California's go-to crews for these sorts of structures. Heck, the Man Cave is sure to set a clear example of what this crew can do.

Before we go on, be sure to check out the image gallery first. That way, you'll be able to have a clear understanding of what the heck I'm talking about. There's just one catch; there are no images on the manufacturer's website regarding the exterior of this home. Nonetheless, I've added an image or two with a few other tiny homes that KJE has built, just as an idea of what the outside of your future Man Cave can look like.

Now, this particular Man Cave seems to be one of the first units that KJE decided to show off to the world; it's the oldest entry on their website. Overall, it's 26 ft (7.9 m) long and 8.5 ft (2.6 m) wide, but one feature that we're not privy to seeing is a roof deck. I would have loved to see this space. Nonetheless, you and I, possible future owners of their own Man Cave, are sure to love such a space, especially if you like lounging around and soaking up the sun's rays like the solar panels you own.

Honestly, to heck with the exterior of this habitat, a man cave is all about that whole "cave" idea, and caves are all about what's inside. Well, there are clear reasons why I chose to bring this habitat to light, and if you've visited the image gallery, you understand what I'm talking about. However, this home isn't built in the style of those extravagant cribs we see on TV, but rather, in the style of a man that just wants to get away from it all while still meeting his day-to-day needs. Still, some comforts, features, and design aspects are remarkable, to say the least.

Let's start off with that entertainment center. Here, the owner of this unit decided to add two theater seats, reminiscent of those found in RVs, and sitting across from a fireplace and shelving system that extends well above head level. Take a moment and picture yourself in this area. Take a look around at all the wooden paneling, take a deep breath, and let mother nature envelop your soul.

After relaxing for a bit, watching the game, or warming the proverbial bones by a fire, it's time for a snack, so we head to the kitchen. It's here that I witnessed a large woodblock countertop with a couple of recesses in which a cooktop and massive copper sink are integrated. Honestly, that copper fits in so well with the wood all around this home and looking back at other KJE units, this feature is one they often use.

Now, before we head towards the rest of the home, I want you to grab an imaginary beer from that large residential fridge, push the start button on a load of laundry, and head to the bathroom. Wait a minute, the bathroom? Yes, the restroom. Why?

Well, it's here that I locked eyes with that beautiful beaten copper bathtub. Go ahead, find that perfect temperature for your water, add a dash of soap for bubbles, and crack open that beer. Imagine soaking your bones in this tub after a day of riding e-bikes, kayaking, and whatever else you do out in the wild. If you're traveling with someone, there's a shower, too, in case the tub is occupied. Come to think of it, this is a perfect feature for couples.

The remaining space in the Man Cave is the loft bedroom. This area sits above the bathroom and is accessible by a ladder with copper rungs integrated into that wood panel wall. While most people would use a loft as a place to rest their heads at night, I prefer to repurpose these spaces into a cargo hold for gear and extra systems I may need on my travels. As a sleeping option, I'd go with a modular couch downstairs or a Murphy bed.

There's just one unanswered question, this thing's price. At this time, KJE's website makes no mention of how much the Man Cave costs, and if you think about it, that makes sense; custom jobs are very hard to place a price on. But, while I've been exploring KJE's works, I've found units priced around $90K to $120K and up. Still, it's well under the market price for a two-bedroom apartment in most states. If you start throwing in systems like solar and battery banks, prices are sure to rise. Starting to understand the allure behind the whole tiny home movement?
