Mystic is hardly as famous and extravagant as other Turkish superyachts. Yet, its gorgeous, all-white silhouette hides more than a stunning interior. This beautiful pleasure craft was a trailblazer at the time of its launch.
A handful of shipyards dominate the superyacht industry, most of them in the Netherlands, with histories spanning decades and a jaw-dropping number of yachts launched so far. Compared to these top players, the Turkish yacht builder CMB is a much smaller and younger company on the market. Still, it knew how to play its cards right, debuting with a truly pioneering luxury yacht that made headlines. That was more than a decade ago, but Mystic is still one of the most beautiful new-generation yachts in operation.

Although Turkey has one of the oldest sailing and boat-building histories, CMB has only been around for less than two decades. Still, it didn't come out of nowhere, but as the affiliate of a big player, the construction and energy conglomerate Basaran Group Companies, which has been active for over 25 years.

Like all newcomers, it wanted to shake things up in the local industry. First, it chose a location that matched its bold, out-of-the-box spirit. Known as the Antalya Free Zone, this area combines modern tax-rule advantages with a rich heritage and skilled workforce. CMB proudly calls it "the world's most rapidly developing superyacht city."

Secondly, the CMB young builders opted for innovative materials instead of traditional steel and aluminum. It was a daring strategy, but it worked. In 2013, when CMB launched the 46-meter (150 feet) Mystic, this became the largest motor yacht made of GRP composite in Turkey and Europe. That's an impressive accomplishment for a young company in such a competitive industry. Not to mention that it helped boost its international reputation tremendously.

GRP is said to offer many advantages compared to traditional materials, including a high strength-to-weight ratio and increased resistance to negative environmental factors (mainly extreme temperatures, salt air, and UV rays). In addition to that, it's cost-effective and easier to work with, which means reduced building times.

CMB partnered with two prestigious international designers for the Mystic project. One was Diana Yacht Design, a well-known Dutch naval architecture studio that created numerous luxury vessels. The other is Schnaase Interior Design, a German studio that managed to create Mystic's stunning contemporary yet timeless interior.

A floating mansion in every sense of the word, Mystic is equally impressive whether we're talking interior style, accommodation, or outdoor living. The oversized sundeck was designed as one of the yacht's highlights. It reveals a beautiful jacuzzi, surrounded by sun pads, right next to a generous sunbathing area with large sunbeds. At any time of the day, the shaded structure of the bar and seating area, with strategically placed LED lighting, ensures a wonderful ambiance.

When it's time for dining in the open air, the main aft deck is the place to be. An informal seating area accompanies the glamorous setup for al-fresco dining and connects to the main salon bar. This salon is truly luxurious, integrating a spacious lounge area, a well-equipped bar, and a separate area for formal dining. Thanks to the panoramic windows, all boast stunning views and are fitted with the latest audio-visual systems.

Mystic dedicated the entire bridge deck to the owner's suite – a sumptuous feature mainly found on much larger superyachts. The yacht's interior style truly shines in this area. The exquisite mix of Art Nouveau elements with oriental accents creates a sophisticated ambiance that stays uncluttered and modern. High-luxury materials and furnishings, including mahogany, oak, silk, and light-reflecting white lacquer coating, turn this vast area into a cocoon.

This lavishly-decorated suite includes an en-suite bathroom with a separate shower and large bathtub, a walk-in wardrobe, access to a private terrace, and a separate study. An interesting addition is the possibility of converting this study into a baby room for families who wish to travel with young children.

Another unique feature onboard Mystic is a second master suite on the main deck. Since the owner gets to enjoy an entire deck, the main deck room, which would typically be the master suite, becomes a guest suite with generous space. As a result, Mystic can accommodate up to 12 guests in six cabins – another unexpected luxury for a yacht this size.

Following an extensive refit in the Netherlands in 2020, Mystic claims to be in excellent shape. Its twin MTU engines reach a top speed of 16 knots (18.4 mph/29.6 kph). An upgraded 36-foot (11 meters) tow-behind tender and an 18-foot (5.4 meters) RIB act as pack-leaders for an impressive water toy selection.

Mystic was followed by three more luxury yachts in the same range. CMB is currently working on a much larger superyacht. Meanwhile, it's still mostly known for launching Mystic, a trailblazing GPR vessel that's up for grabs right now, with an asking price of € 11,5 million ($12.5 million).
