It has been a long time since we last discussed one of the oldest, most important, and most beloved brands from the Big Detroit Three's pool of life.
It's not Ford, of course, and certainly not Chevrolet, either. The former has been doing the news rounds for both positive (like the fact the S650 Ford Mustang is finally out in the wild or the new 2024 F-150 Lightning Flash) and adverse facts – like the recent NHTSA probe into the company's engines.

The latter is also plagued by its own issues – like the recent reports about hiked Corvette prices, the big parking lot of Corvette Z06s awaiting parts, or the fact they intend to end 2024 Camaro production earlier than anticipated. As for their EV revolution, the Chevy Silverado EV – in 4WT trim – is also taking flight with all sorts of cool tests.

Anyway, back to, you guessed, Chrysler, there's not much we can discuss about the brand that once competed head-to-head with Ford and Chevrolet. They're slowly dying with only the Pacifica and Pacifica Plug-in Hybrid minivans, plus the Chrysler 300 sedan still on offer – Stellantis wants Chrysler to be reborn as an EV archangel. Still, they're not hurrying the process in any way.

So, maybe it's up to fans to keep the spirit alive. And it's great that some of them have decided to do something about Chrysler – both in the real world and the imaginative realm of digital car content creators. Enter the stage Mark Smith, the founder, and co-founder of Smyth Kit Cars, Factory Five Racing, and Local Motors, among others.

More specifically, let us discuss Smyth Kit Cars, the company that works to empower DIY auto builders from around the nation with car-to-truck conversion kits. Currently, they offer the blueprints for the New VW Beetle, Jetta and Golf, a Jeep, the Subaru Impreza, plus the Audi A4/S4. However, the most famous of their kits revolves around the 2005-2020 Dodge Charger conversion kit – which turns the muscle sedan into a feisty Ute (coupe utility), with or without a widebody.

Mark has been thinking about expanding the roster recently, and a friend of his caught the vibe of making sure the Dodge Charger Ute isn't the only modern American coupe utility. That buddy is none other than Oscar Vargas, the virtual artist better known as wb.artist20 on social media, who continues to dream of automotive stuff that feels great if you're from Texas.

So, after imagining stuff like a Cadillac Escalade-based Trill Burgers food truck (you need to see its outlandish layout; it's embedded second below), he immediately caught wind of Mark's desire to one day see the Chrysler 300 get a conversion kit from sedan to coupe utility (Ute). Naturally, he also envisioned the potential outcome – and we will trust him that he knows the stuff because Oscar is currently DIY building his Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat Widebody into 'Project Rampage.'

Back to the Chrysler 300 Ute, the visualization is a bit exaggerated, as always – the former sedan looks feisty with a mesh grille, more extensive door sills, and a nice widebody atmosphere caused by the enlarged fender flares. As for the pickup conversion, now there's enough space in the bed area for lots of stuff – including an outdoor party in fantasy land, given the speaker setup dwelling on the sides of the load bay. Cool, right?
