As always, Ford may be the best-selling brand in America, but it's also one of the most recalled. Just recently, the NHTSA expanded its probe for "catastrophic engine failure" to no less than 708k Fords and Lincolns.
Additionally, people are already getting rid of crashed 2024 Ford Mustangs – and even vloggers tend to keep their S650s away from competing cars when racing together because of the shabby reputation. Anyway, that doesn't mean Ford doesn't have nice stuff to show for itself.
Just recently, they introduced the 2024 model year Ford F-150 Lightning, and leading the charge is a new 2024 F-150 Lightning Flash, a fresh tech-laden trim that also hits the sweet spot with 320 miles (515 km) of EV range. Of course, that's not the only new model coming out to the party from Dearborn, Michigan.
And suppose the automaker is unwilling to lift the pace on its reveals and introductions, no worries. In that case, the imaginative realm of digital car content creators has us covered – at least in the parallel universe of vehicular CGIs. As such, meet the good folks over at the AutoYa info channel on YouTube, who also have a satellite venue dubbed AutoYa Interior and that's where all the Blue Oval (CGI) action occurred.
Just recently, the channel's resident pixel master decided to help the host discuss the upcoming 2025 Ford Expedition. The spy photographers have already caught the next iteration in prototype form. Still, the rumor mill is yet unsure if the full-size three-row competitor for the Chevy Tahoe and GMC Yukon will come out with a deep refresh or an all-new generation.
Their speculative renderings lean towards the former, it seems. After all, ever since it was introduced in 1997, the Expedition has remained a derivative of the Ford F-150 full-size pickup truck, and the latter just got updated for 2024MY. Anyway, the unofficial illustrations show just about everything (save for a rear POV) with the Expedition dressed in Timberline attire and juggling through a slew of posh exterior colors.
Moving inside, the host believes Ford could go down two routes – either an adaptation of the sliding portrait-oriented screen like in the new Ford Explorer EV or a massive, broad treatment spanning almost the entirety of the dashboard. Of course, the channel's CGI expert didn't forget to showcase this latter option with many color options, and the hue also extended to the bird's eye view of the three-row seating arrangement.
Now, all that remains to do is take this with a grain of salt – as always, with these types of speculative renderings, nothing is official just yet. However, we do not expect Ford to wait long before introducing the refreshed or all-new Expedition since the current fourth generation has been on sale since late 2017, and the 2022MY facelift was mostly subtle rather than fully encompassing.
