Unveiled earlier this year, and with the US specifications already announced, the Volvo EX30 has now stepped into the spotlight again, this time with the brand’s Canadian branch releasing the pricing details for the local market.
The most affordable version of the new electric crossover kicks off at CA$53,700 (equaling US$39,177). The model is offered in five exterior colors, uses a combination of recycled and natural materials on the inside, and gets Google built-in services, including Google Assistant and Google Maps.

The wireless Apple CarPlay is also standard on the Core, aka the entry-level grade, and each version of the EX30 comes with a generous array of safety gear. The list includes stuff such as front and rear collision mitigation, driver alert with blind-spot information, door-opening alert, and others.

Besides the Core, the 2024 Volvo EX30 is also offered in the Plus specification from CA$56,900 (US$41,512). This trim level adds additional goodies, such as the 19-inch alloys, a dual-tone finish with the Onyx Black roof, a panoramic roof, and a premium sound system signed by Harman Kardon for audiophiles.

Topping the family is the Ultra grade. It starts at CA$59,100 (US$43,117), and brings more safety systems, including the Park Pilot Assist, the Pilot Assist with Lane Change Assistance, and the 360-degree camera system. Other things that are standard on the EX30 are the heated front seats and heated steering wheel, which local customers should appreciate during those long winters.

Just like in the United States, the Volvo EX30 comes with two powertrains in Canada. The most affordable offering is a single-motor setup producing 268 hp (272 ps/200 kW) and 253 pound-feet (343 Nm) of torque. Getting the dual-motor assembly brings more power to the party, with 422 hp (428 ps/315 kW) combined and 401 lb-ft (544 Nm) of torque. In the latter configuration, the EX30 is the brand's fastest accelerating vehicle ever, taking 3.6 seconds to hit 62 mph (100 kph) from 0.

Mind you, interested parties will have to upgrade to the Plus or Ultra trim levels to opt for the dual-motor setup, as it is not available on the base Core. Pricing starts at CA$59,900 (US$43,700) and CA$62,100 (US$45,306), respectively. It is also worth noting that all prices exclude the destination charge and dealer markups.

Before wrapping it up, we will remind you that the Volvo EX30 comes to life in China at the Chengdu factory. It uses the SEA2 (Sustainable Experience Architecture 2), which ties it mechanically to the Polestar 4, Smart #1, and Zeekr X. It measures 2,650 mm (104.3 in) long between the axles. As a result, it falls behind the Tesla Model Y in terns of size, whose wheelbase is 241 mm (9.5 in) longer.
