Who says you can't have a hefty dose of luxury with your off-grid adventures, preferably in a package that's relatively affordable and integrates plenty of sustainability features? Living Vehicle says you can, as you should – and will get them all with the HD24 2024 model.
The 2024 HD24 model is the latest addition to the Living Vehicle lineup, based on the HD flagship model.
Living Vehicle is a small, family-run, U.S.-based company that's been producing luxury trailers since 2017 with a focus on quality over quantity, luxury, sustainability, and extended autonomy at camp. The Living Vehicle lineup includes only limited-edition models and is regularly revived with new entries that completely replace the previous ones they're based on.
That last part is essential to understand the similarities between the newer HD24 and the 2024 HD Series it's based on. The HD24, which is also a 2024-year model, sits on a shorter wheelbase, so it's more compact and, because of it, more nimble and more suitable for longer, wilder adventures. Because it's shorter, it also brings a different layout, but it's able to offer the same kind of comfort and super-fancy features as its bigger predecessor – and is just as family-friendly.

Living Vehicle trailers are often described as the Airstreams of the electric era. They're premium products with a very distinctive silhouette and readily recognizable styling, customizable to a large degree, and akin to limited-series RVs because of the same business model where new models take older ones out of production. They're also packed with tech meant to make life off-grid and off-road as pleasant as you want it to be, for whatever duration you want it to be.
The HD24 is also all these things, while also bringing several firsts for Living Vehicle. It's a 24-foot (7.3-meter) dual-axle trailer with dual solar awnings and whatever solar package best suits your needs (depending on which spec you choose), with a fold-out patio deck, sleeping for four, a full bathroom, and a complete kitchen. The novelty is the walk-in gear closet that now sits in lieu of the main bedroom, which has been moved to the other end of the trailer.
Despite the more compact footprint, the HD24 can still sleep four adults comfortably, thanks to the elevator bed in the living room. At the press of a button, the bed comes down, and you get comfy bunks for four people, so you have accommodation for the entire family.

That said, company founders Matthew and Joanna Hofmann stress that this model is designed for adventurous couples or solo travelers. In this context, the elevator bed serves as the main sleeping area, while the lower bunk becomes the lounge, facing a large-screen 4K TV with a choice of audio systems.
The kitchen is located centrally and features appliances that run exclusively on solar: a residential-size fridge with freezer, an electric 3-burner cooktop, an electric oven, an electric hood extractor, a water purifier, and water maker. The powder-coated cabinetry offers plenty of storage space, customizable by adding or removing shelves, and a very generous pantry.
The bathroom is small but made to feel less so by means of a large skylight over the shower and a large window. You will find in there a small sink, toilet, and a bamboo-floor shower, but also a heater and a defog mirror with integrated LED lighting.

As for the novelty of this model, the 8-by-5-foot (2.4-by-1.5-meter) walk-in closet, it can be anything you need it to be, from extra storage for your gear to a more traditional walk-in wardrobe. Whatever purpose you choose for it, you still have enough room inside for a proper laundry station with a washer and dryer and shelving for storage.
Like with all the other models from Living Vehicle, the HD24 brings extended autonomy at camp thanks to its roof-mounted solar panels and big battery packs. The model is offered in four trims, each with different solar packages: ECO, COR, MAX, and PRO.
The ECO model, for example, has 600W of solar on the roof with a 2,000W inverter and a 4,800Wh lithium battery, so you get between 3 and 7 days of autonomy at camp. At the opposite pole is the PRO model, which will get you unlimited stays off the grid by means of 3,800W of solar on the roof, an 18,000W inverter, and a 72,000Wh battery bank.

The standard spec includes a 100-gallon (378.5-liter) freshwater tank, but you get an additional 5 gallons (19 liters) a day thanks to Water-From-Air tech. As Living Vehicle puts it, you could go away from the maddening crowd, either for leisure or work, for whatever duration you want – and you will want for nothing.

Below is a full walkthrough of the new model. It will go into limited production in 2024, with a starting price of $299,995. It's affordable only in the proper context: compared to other Living Vehicle models and to a premium RV that doesn't offer this kind of off-grid autonomy.
