In only a few years, Tesla has managed to revolutionize the electric car game, positioning itself as a pioneer in this segment. Every time it introduces a new product, the internet goes wild, and it was the same during the launch of the Cybertruck.
Mind you, the electric pickup should have been around for a good while now, but as the company has gotten us used to, their projects usually get delayed by a few years. The Cybertruck was postponed several times, making its way to the market four years after the 2019 official unveiling in concept form.

Does it live up to the hype? So far, the answer seems to be yes, for the most part. You see, it's a hair shorter than the study, albeit it manages to carry over the same design with a few minor adjustments. There's not a single curve on the outside, and the interior is typical of Tesla models. A few quirks and features, as someone would say, are part of the highlights, and they're novelties to the brand.

The inflation has left its toll on the pricing, with the rear-wheel drive variant that's due in 2025 said to cost $60,900, or just over $21,000 more than the original estimate. The all-wheel drive dual-motor was said to carry a sub-$50,000 starting price, yet it is nearly $80,000, and the Cyberbeast, aka the range-topper, should be almost $100,000, or some $30,000 more.

Choosing the base flavor will allow you to sprint to 60 mph (97 kph) in 6.5 seconds and travel around 250 miles (~400 km) on a single charge. The mid-spec drops the acceleration to 4.1 seconds and improves the driving range to approximately 340 miles (~550 km), whereas the top grade has a 320-mile (515 km) range and the ability to hit sixty in 2.6 seconds. A Range Extender available on the top two trim levels will further boost the range to over 470 miles (~755 km) when it comes to the mid-grade.

As everyone knows, the first customer-spec Tesla Cybertrucks are on the road, turning heads wherever they're spotted. But will the automaker draw the line at this model when it comes to the quirky design? We're tempted to say yes, although that could eventually be a no. Either way, the Cybertruck's styling has already inspired several unofficial vehicles, including a people carrier that came from Jlord8 on Instagram.

Dubbed the Cybervan, it stays true to the pickup's looks, though it comes with a taller roofline, larger side windows, and a very generous cargo area. Such a proposal might be on to something, yet since minivans are not as popular as they used to be, chances are it won't materialize. But should it?
