Sealy is a city in Austin County in southeastern Texas, and the population doesn't surpass 7k persons, according to a 2020 census.
However, it's possible they have more horsepower per capita than any other little town in America because the township residing 49 miles (79 km) west of the downtown Houston area is also home to Hennessey Performance Engineering. And the American company is not only a proud representative of the tuning realm but also one of the few American hypercar manufacturers.

Of course, you don't need a Venom F5 to stand out in any crowd. Hennessey will happily oblige with the Exorcist, for example – a Chevrolet Camaro build that shames all OEM versions that were allowed by the narrow-minded head honchos from GM's corner offices. It's also home to the 1,000-hp Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing that even John Hennessey likes to take for a test drive from time to time.

What else is there? Oh, right, the Lunar Edition of the Ram 1500 TRX can go through the Mammoth 1000 upgrade quite easily, and in a few words, Hennessey basically plays with just about anything from the Big Detroit Three – from passenger cars to SUVs and pickup trucks. Speaking of the latter, the company also loves to showcase the Venom 775 build for the 2023 Ford F-150, which is dubbed as something that eats Ram TRXs and Raptor Rs for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

However, in their YouTube channel's latest video feature, Hennessey didn't fulfill the promise of TRX and Raptor R killer and instead attacked an unsuspecting 2024 seventh-generation S650 Ford Mustang Dark Horse. Their premise was simple: "How does the new Hennessey Venom 775 Ford F-150 compare to Ford's latest and greatest Mustang?" And to answer the question, they took to Pennzoil Proving Ground for a series of head-to-head races, of course!

Oddly enough, even though Hennessey does have a quarter-mile dragstrip, they don't use the prepped portion for their races, and on this occasion, they don't even go for a standing quarter mile. Maybe they were afraid the bone-stock S650 Ford Mustang Dark Horse could win against their heavily-tuned 775-horsepower F-150 pickup truck. Frankly, although the pony count shows the F-150 as the clear winner, the truck is also much heavier (5,700 lbs.) than the V8 coupe, which tips the scales at 3,949 lbs. according to Hennessey.

Instead, they performed a trio of rolling races from 35 mph (56 kph), and on all three occasions, the supercharged monster of a truck won the skirmish. However, it's interesting to note that Ford's Dark Horse might be a great platform to test and tune because, on all three skirmishes, it felt like the Mustang could have recouped the gap if the race was done over the half mile. Interesting, right?
