The "world-renowned Texas-based hypercar manufacturer and high-performance vehicle creator," Hennessey Performance, has unleashed one last Camaro Exorcist version designed to exonerate GM fans of any and all Mopar Demons (170).
Unfortunately, the ICE-powered (V8) muscle car era is coming to a sad conclusion as far as Mopar and GM fans are concerned. The former will see the 2023 Dodge Challenger and Charger set out into the sunset with their Hemi V8 engines, never to be seen again as they adapt to the novel EV lifestyle and potentially come back for a new generation with Banshee EV and inline-six prowess.

Meanwhile, the Ford Motor Company's S650 seventh-generation 2024 Ford Mustang soldiers alone in Coyote V8 GT and Dark Horse form because even the 2024 Chevrolet Camaro is about to be written off the automotive industry's history books. And it is not even wrapping production in January next year as initially promised, with the latest reports claiming it will bow out in late November (Convertible) and early December (coupe), respectively.

With so little time on the clock, it's adamantly clear that the rumored 2024 Chevy Camaro Z/28 farewell is not happening – leaving Mopar fans alone to cherish their seven 'Last Call' special editions as opposed to just the Collector's Edition and Garage 56 versions. Luckily, if GM doesn't want fans to have the Camaro Z/28 farewell, Hennessey thinks they can do something better – meet the 1,000-hp Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 'Exorcist Final Edition.'

"Celebrating the end of Chevrolet's high-performance combustion-only pony car, the supercharged LT4 V8 is comprehensively upgraded to 1,000 horsepower – placing the Dodge Challenger SRT Demon 170 in its crosshairs," says the tuner and hypercar manufacturer. To get things going, the 6.2-liter supercharged V8 that usually has 650 hp and 650 lb-ft of torque was massaged with "a larger high-flow supercharger, high-flow air induction system and upgrades to the auxiliary fuel system, fuel injectors, and fuel pump."

But that's only the beginning – there are also ported cylinder heads, custom HPE camshafts, and reworked intake plus exhaust valves, valve springs, retainers, lifters, and pushrods. Last but not least come the oversized heat exchanger, long-tube stainless steel headers, and high-flow catalytic converters that "improve breathing."

Over the years, Hennessey has refined the Exorcist formula, and the Chevy Camaro ZL1 flaunts 1,000 hp and 966 lb-ft of torque (54 and 49% more than a stock ZL1) to help it roar to 60 mph in 2.1 seconds. The iconic quarter-mile is done in 9.57 seconds, and there's also a 217-mph top speed – clearly, these are all Dodge Challenger SRT Demon 170-rivaling figures.

By the way, while production of the Exorcist Final Edition is underway, there are only 57 build slots available – one for each year of Camaro production. Customers willing to pay the bill will also receive a 'Final Edition x of 57' serial-numbered engine bay plaque plus dedicated graphics on the outside.
