Since the Toyota GT 86 received its 2015 updates in Japan, it was only normal for the Subaru BRZ sister car to get in line. There are no special editions offered with this one, but it does add some extras to make it more enjoyable.
Starting April 16th, the 2015 BRZ is said to come with some body stiffening mods to make it handle even better. Subaru didn’t said what exactly those are, but it could be anything, from chassis braces to more weld spots.

Next comes an improved electric-assisted steering which should offer more feedback as well as two new colors (Lapis Blue Pearl and Pure Red) and some satin silver decorative trimming around the cabin.

Subaru also created a new trim level for the BRZ, called the R Customize Package, which adds air conditioning, floor soundproofing materials and a trunk mat to the bone stock RA model developed for those that only care about racing.

The basic BRZ RA comes with unpainted door handles, 16-inch steel wheels, no foglights, fabric seats, no decorative trimmings, no audio system, no limited-slip differential and non-ventilated rear brakes. All the missing things make the car about 60 kg (132 lbs) lighter, which definitely counts when trying to beat the clock on the track.

For the top S grade, you now get a new 8-speaker audio system with amplifier as well as a new cruise control system. All versions will be powered by the same 200 hp 2-liter flat-four engine mated to either a six-speed manual or automatic gearbox. The base model can only be had with a manual.
