The current hype surrounding crossovers, SUVs, and trucks – even across the novel EV lifestyle – is pretty disruptive, indeed. However, some automakers are undeterred in their quest to ensure the survival of traditional passenger car formats.
And interestingly, they are mainly from Asia – especially the Japanese automakers. Right now, in the real world, automakers like Nissan, Subaru, and Mazda are currently profoundly preoccupied with the upcoming inaugural edition of the Japan Mobility Show – the event formerly known as the Tokyo Motor Show. Over there, it's all about new ways of moving around – but also old ways of maintaining automotive leadership with exciting concepts and ideas.

Meanwhile, the imaginative realm of digital car content creators could not care less about the event taking place from October 26 to November 5, especially since we found out that Toyota's 'Land Hopper' trademark wasn't for a compact Land Cruiser but rather for a three-wheeled electric personal mobility prototype! Anyway, now, the parallel universes of vehicular CGI are entirely focused on the passenger car sector.

More precisely, aroused by the recent teaser by Toyota for the upcoming Los Angeles Auto Show (November 17-26) depicting a sedan silhouette, the CGI rumor mill has exploded with visions of the ninth-generation 2025 Toyota Camry XV80. Alas, that is not the only thing they are thinking about. Instead, these pixel masters are expanding their dreams toward some of its direct competitors like the Nissan Altima, Subaru Legacy, and Mazda6. Cool or not?

First, the good folks over at Q Cars have imagined a second redesign for the sixth-generation Nissan Altima or possibly a vision for the seventh iteration if you feel like the 2023 facelift is too close. In their dreams, possibly facilitated by AI software assistance, the next Altima is even sleeker with a trendy LED DRL signature at the front and a minimalist profile plus a subtle rear-end treatment.

Secondly, if the unofficial Nissan Altima is not good enough, maybe the 2025 Subaru Legacy redesign from PoloTo will tickle your CGI senses. Or should we say redesigns – since the resident pixel master used AI goodies to imagine a variety of potential designs? Anyway, if the Legacy looks like our favorite rendering, the Toyota Camry and Honda Accord may be in big trouble, not just the digital Nissan Altima.

Thirdly, the author, better known as Theottle on social media, has brought the Mazda6 mid-size sedan to our attention. And since he doesn't use any kind of AI helpers, this one is also the closest to a real-world design project – and possibly also the blandest of all three. However, this CGI expert ups the stakes with a second idea – what if Mazda also presented a Mazda6 station wagon alongside a hypothetical fourth iteration?
