Lincoln currently sells just one type of vehicle if you're in its home market – either big or small, but they're all of the crossover SUV variety. Of course, that doesn't bode well for everyone, and some people even take matters into their own hands to change that. Or should we say at the tip of their CGI brush?
The premium division of Ford Motor Company has exactly four nameplates in its inventory in America currently: Corsair, Nautilus, Aviator, and Navigator. The company isn't idle, though, as the refreshed 2025 Aviator was revealed in February. Then, in March, the second-generation 2024 Nautilus also appeared up for grabs with a humongous 48-inch screen in the cabin and probably also with a small 'made in China' label in places no one looks for.

Speaking of China, remember that Lincoln has a fifth nameplate on sale there – the Lincoln Z four-door sedan, previously known as the Lincoln Zephyr when it entered production in 2022. So, if they can have a Lincoln passenger car, why should North America get left out of the loop? After all, while many chanted about the impending demise of all passenger cars, it seems that some of them are still very much alive and well, fighting for the survival of the species as a whole.

Just recently, Dodge unveiled the eighth generation Charger in traditional two-door fastback coupe form and with a returning four-door sedan plus EV and ICE powertrains. You would usually think that means the Ford Mustang is in danger, but the new Charger is much bigger and heavier than a 'Stang; it might become very hard to pit them against each other. As such, maybe Lincoln could provide an appropriate answer in the form of a personal luxury car, even if only from across the imaginative realm of digital car content creators.

In fact, Jim, the virtual artist known as jlord8 on social media, loves messing around with all things CGI from Blue Ovals. Hence, this reborn Lincoln Mark IX is unsurprising – especially since this is not his first attempt at bringing this particular nameplate continuation to our attention. However, his Lincoln Mark IX probably wouldn't fight with the Dodge Charger either, as the pixel master fashioned his design project idea based on the elegant and nimble Mercedes-AMG GT.

Coincidence or not, the German company just announced the pricing details for the 2024 Mercedes-AMG GT 55 and 63 variants for the US market and, at the same time, also announced for worldwide markets the impending arrival of the base Mercedes-AMG GT 43 Coupe with a 2.0-liter four-pot engine. As such, if Lincoln were ever to create a Mark IX based on Merc's latest AMG GT, the primary target in America would be a very different one – perhaps it's meant as an answer to the ritzy C8 Corvette. So, do you like what you see?
