Kia, along with its cousin Hyundai, is one of the most daring and restless companies across the automotive industry. The best part is that most of its styling ideas are well-received and brave, unlike other creations (cough, BMW, cough) that seem extreme only for the sake of attracting attention.
Instead, both Kia and Hyundai have well-coordinated styling that's many times quirky but still easily stands out in the right kind of crowds. For example, Kia has three tiers for its design paradigm right now. It embraces one direction for the all-electric models like the EV6, EV5, and EV9 crossover SUVs plus the upcoming EV3 and EV4 based on what we have seen they have done with the preview Concepts.
Another tier is reserved for passenger cars like the upcoming K5, and the final one is for the crossovers and the Carnival MPV. It's quite easy to recognize their intentions – passenger cars adopt a more horizontal way of styling the headlights, LED DRLs, and air intakes. At the same time, the crossovers and Carnival allow themselves vertical leeway with much larger radiator grilles and L-shaped light clusters.
As it turns out, and mostly based on the latest spy videos and photos, the rumor mill believes that next in line to adopt the fresh styling alongside the Carnival MPV and the Sorento CUV family is the ultra-popular Sportage compact crossover SUV. Of course, it's only logical to assume that a refresh is coming as Hyundai has already upgraded the Tucson in certain markets. Thus, the imaginative realm of digital car content creators is not far behind, either.
For example, the good folks over at Kolesa, along with their resident pixel master Nikita Chuicko, aka kelsonik on social media, have imagined the updated 2025 Kia Sportage CUV. The digital automotive designer worked on the traditional front and rear three-quarter POVs, and it's easy to see all the hypothetical changes way ahead of the South Korean company's official reveal. Since this is a facelift, most changes are focused on the front of the vehicle to adopt the new Sportage and Carnival styling, but there are mild updates for the rear light clusters, too.
Of course, do take all these renderings with a pinch of salt because there is no way to confirm or discard them before Kia makes the 2025 Sportage facelift official. However, if you like them, the CGI expert also embedded a set of fresh ideation renderings focusing on the upcoming Kia Cerato/Forte, which is being renamed as the Kia K4 soon. What do you think of this publication's vision? Are there any of them spot-on? Plus, which is cooler – the Sportage crossover SUV or the compact sedan?
