Some say modern cars have lost their souls, and we agree. We'd also say that most automakers have also lost their identities in the never-ending chase of launching more crossovers, often with an electric twist, because, like it or not, EV seems to be the industry's future.
The constant advancements in aerodynamics and safety have dictated a whole new design language than what was available a few decades ago, hence why certain petrolheads would always pick an old-timer over a brand-new automobile, ready to deal with all the issues that might appear.
Classic rides still keep us up at night; depending on the mood, we'd get everything from a Lamborghini Countach to a great Trans Am. A 1950s ride, similar to a Chevrolet Bel Air, would also cut it. But why mention this particular model? Because this entire story is based on the pictured copy.
Mind you, you may want to replace pictured with rendered, as unfortunately, it's not real. You are looking at a CGI proposal signed by 412donklife and shared on Instagram not long ago, which proudly decorates Fantasy Land, looking like it belongs in the window of a jewelry shop, surrounded by all sorts of rare gems and precious metals.
The first thing that stands out is the gold touch. You can see this color on multiple exterior components. It is also the hue that was virtually applied to the Artis alloys. The whole car features a dark purple finish and has a light brown top to tie it with the leather upholstery inside. We can also see a few chrome accents and a few other bits and bobs that contribute to the car's special look.
Taken separately, these colorful accents and the large alloys would probably suit a handful of models, most of which would be from the golden era of motoring. We would've loved to see this stunning 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air from more angles, but we certainly won't complain about it. After all, it is one sexy project that deserves its fifteen minutes of fame and then some.
In an ideal world, a '57 Bel Air owner would use these renderings as inspiration for their project, choosing a similar approach. Such a machine would turn heads wherever it goes and would feel at home at all cars and coffee events. It would also attract the focus of many camera lenses at dedicated auto shows, like SEMA in Las Vegas.
Buying a '57 Bel Air would cost you a few thousand dollars, yet the price would go up for a pristine example like the one we wrote about a few months ago. So, what color would your classic Chevy have if money was the least of your concerns?
