A Lamborghini Aventador crashed under a truck on a highway in Georgia. Even though the car was pancaked under the truck, the driver walked away with minor injuries.
The accident happened on I-75 in Georgia, at MM 329 in Dalton-Whitfield County, as the driver of a rental 2018 Lamborghini Aventador pressed the right pedal more than he should have done it, lost control of the car, and smashed right under the 18-wheeler that was driving ahead of him in the right lane.

The Lamborghini remained trapped under the trailer, but luckily, the driver’s door opened and he could come out of the car.

The rightmost and the middle lane of the highway had to be shut down for nearly an hour and a half until the area was cleared for any debris caused by the crash.

Just 20 minutes before the accident, highway police had issued a BOLO (Be on the lookout) for the supercar driving in excess of 100 mph (161 kph) at 12:10 p.m. The high-speed crash took place at 12:32 p.m.

The photos from the crash scene show the Aventador flattened under the truck, pushed to the tarmac, while the safety cell remained almost intact. The manner the car got distorted confirms that it was travelling at high speed. It could have been way worse if, instead of a very low supercar, there would have been an SUV, for instance. The car is totaled, but the 36-year old driver must have been born under a lucky star. He was alone in the car when the accident happened. No other vehicles were involved.

Driver walks away, jokes pour in

A post on Facebook showing the car sandwiched between the tarmac and the truck sparked interest among users. Funny comments poured in, following the info that the driver was alright.

"Hey, sir, you can’t park here!" someone ironically wrote.

"I’ll buy it for a dollar," another user joked. "For sale cheap. Slightly damaged," someone previewed a possible ad listing on some salvage cars website.

"I bet you can get a good deal on that one and it’s been lowered," a Facebook user with a sense of humor commented.

Good deal or not, the Lamborghini Aventador is a car not to mess with. The 36-year old driver that crashed learned the hard way. The supercar is powered by a 6.5-liter V12 engine that delivers 690 horsepower (700 PS) in the standard variant, with 770 horsepower (780 PS) in the SVJ and the Ultimate variants.

The car can do 0 to 62 mph (0-100 kph) in 2.9 seconds, 0-124 mph (0-200 kph) in 6.4 seconds and a runs the quarter mile in 10.5 seconds. Top speed is of 217 mph (350 kph). And it suddenly stops when it hits a truck.
